Cavani and his ilk are pipedreams until we get champions league football again. He'd be my number one signing in fantasy dreamland, but it's not happening until we can offer CL football.

Maintaining the defensive unit of fit, mobile and comfortable-on-the-ball players is vital to our chances of success. Reina has been excellent for the past two games now, so hopefully his little patch of below par form (for him) is over.Originally posted by dww View PostI hope not. The back 4 (or 6 if you include Lucas and Reina) have been looking like an excellent unit of late. Really hope they stay together for a lot of the rest of the season.

Of course we won't get him. Doesn't mean i don't want us to try though. LOLOriginally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postjust can't see us having a chance of getting him. surely he's the most sought after forward in the game right now. suarez obviously would be a factor, I just think we'd be priced out by a whole host of clubs. then carroll would get even less time on the pitch. right, its not happening. mast nailed.

I've been a critic of Adam, but the last couple of games him and Lucas have been fantastic. I think they now have a better understanding of each others games. Hopefully they can play consistently at this level.Originally posted by vonk View PostThe positives for me were Lucas, who bossed a midfield. Charlie Adam has come on leaps on bounds and him and Lucas were really outstanding. Adam very unlucky with the shot in the first half that Hart saved with his feet. Reina gave us a few scares but overall he was excellent. Once again Skrtel and Agger were solid at the back along with Johnson and Enrique. Suarez was his usual busy self and was unlucky with a few efforts. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That said it's not games like today that are the problem, it the games against the likes of Sunderland, Norwich and Swansea that are the problem. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If we finish in the top four I reckon we'll be in for Cavani this summer. However there is no chance in hell we'll get him in January. Napoli are set for the CL knockout stages, even if Cavani wanted to leave in January the club won't let him go til the summer.Originally posted by BringbackBiscan View PostCavani and his ilk are pipedreams until we get champions league football again. Contrary to popular opinion I'd go for a CB in January. If Agger get's injured Carragher will stroll back into the starting 11. Not a pleasant thought.

Today showed we seem to have gone back to playing the pass and move football that was so effective last season instead of the rigid 442 nonsense we have been playing for most of this season.
Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Lucas and Adam were all excellent. Suarez wasn't quite his usual explosive self but was still good. Kuyt was inconsistent but decent.
I like Henderson and I think he has a future at this club but he isn't ready to start. He goes missing too often and lacks the composure needed when going forward.
Downing should be benched ASAP. He has started every league game but 1 and has a grand total of 0 goals and 0 assists. Maxi deserves to start aginst Fulham next week although if I'm honest I can't see it happening.Last edited by ~LFCHistory~; 27-11-11, 09:36 PM.

Got the train back with a load of City fans and they all thought we deserved to win and that it was their hardest game of the season.
Lucas was just ****ing immense. Absolutely immense. Adam is really blossoming and had another fine game. Agger & Skrtel fantastic, Downing after a rotten first half played well 2nd half, Johnson was excellent, Enrique too.
We're asking too much of Suarez. Also I've defended him over his perceived diving but at times today it was indefensible.
Credit to the City fans firstly for leading the applause for Luca Jones (until some dick shouted "CITY!" which prompted the ref to blow) and incredibly there was a City fan in their end with their 'Milan' away shirt and 'Justice for the 96' on the back. Loads of Reds taking pics of him at half time. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

So frustratingly unlucky.
Lucas & Adam were simply outstanding, thought Agger was immense also. Joe Hart had a stormer pulled some top notch saves off. IMO if Maxi & Bellamy had off been starters we would have won. Feels like we droped points, similiar to the United game.
We need to bring that passion, intensity & aggression into games vs Swansea,OPQ,Norwich etc. Even playing 50% of what we played against United/Chelsea/City and we'd cruise through the lesser sides.
All in all 4 points from 2 tough fixtures is good going. One again immense game from Lucas & Adam, especially Lucas.
