Without meaning to have a go, it's comments like that which make you come across as only having a very simple understanding of the game.

As for Downing, he's able to skin the fullback easily. Maxi doesnt have the pace, so wouldnt do that.

mate not having a go, but the balance excuse is a complete cop out, and is another way of saying he has done nothing. He has been poor, no excuses. Needs to get more involved and stuck in.

Downing has the beating of Taylor no doubts, poor defender and carrying a knock, but Maxi's runs behind the backline are the best part of his game IMO, and he is just as quick as Downing, Taylor is a snail. Downing has had 3 great chances to get ball in, and end product not there but his approach play has been decent to be fair.

IMO if nothing is doing Maxi and Gerrard on.

Adam always makes the wrong choice. He's too concerned with personal glory to the detriment of the team. Carroll doesn't even look like a footballer. He can barely pass the ball and there was a stage there where he kept falling over after hitting simple passes.

We were unlucky with the goal we conceded and did well with the quick equaliser. I wouldn't put my life's savings on us hitting a winner though.

Carroll is so frustrating to watch. His first touch/pass is terrible. He's nowhere in the box.

His free kicks and corners have been disappointing.
