I don't think i've ever seen so many shocking decisions by officials, ever! Some horribly blatant and frankly dangerous incidents being missed/ignored etc and then stupid/cynical & sometimes not even cardable offences being stupidly punished.

    It's a worrying trend.

Yep, very happy with our defence. Skrtel was strong and Agger is gaining confidence, brought the ball out of defence 3 or 4 times - I'm liking it.

Our midfield kept its shape a whole lot better with Spearing in there. I don't mind either player, but Henderson and Adam definitely aren't made to play in a double pivot together, it just doesn't fit. If we want to include both, there needs to be a third man in midfield, or one needs to go out wideish. The difference Gerrard made was astronomical. I still have my doubts about Adam, who for me has been very up and down, even though it's definitely not my favourite place to see Gerrard, I'd like to see him start in place of Adam in that position when he's fit to do so.

Even though Carroll improved with the introduction of Gerrard, I don't have a great deal of faith in him, it's been discussed to death and will be done more so, so I'll leave that for now.

Downing is a concern for me. He's good in possession but he never really looks like doing anything. He's a pussy and I just don't see him getting any goals or assists. He makes the worst decisions in the most pivotal positions because he's too scared to make the brave one. And when he doens't make the wrong decision his execution is awful.

Bellamy's class, I love him. Gerrard, him and Suarez together gives optimism. It hasn't been a bad first half to the season, our points should be a lot better than they are, but we're a work in progress. There's a lot of things to build on where we require improvement but there's also a lot of things to be pleased about, the defence in particular for me is a highlight.

If you watch one of the replays closely you can see he kept his eye on Jays leg, even when the ball was gone. Completely intentional.

Seeing as the ref missed that and Collocini, surely there is no reason why the FA can't act and suspend them both.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Next game City in 4 days - they're playing in 2 days as well at Sunderland.

I know it doesn't mean much with their squad, but nice to finally have some fixtures that go in our favour for once.

It didn't though. I'm not one who subscribes to hitting the woodwork being 'unlcuky' because to be honest unless it deflects for a scoring opportunity, it might as well have been blasted a million miles over the bar, it makes no real difference. It's either in the goal, or it's not.
