I thought they proudly announced that they only lost 2 cases in 2011 at the 'independent' hearings?

Should be nailed on that the red card will stand surely?

Kompany being suspended is a huge bonus for us if it stands. He was immense against us the other day. Best CB in the league to date.

I don't think it's the same system for appealing red cards, his appeal will be heard by the FA rather than one of the FA's "independent" panels.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep - Fact is it was a two footed lunge - you can argue the point that it was a slippery surface & he got the ball but that doesnt matter; Kyriagos got sent off for similar against the blue noses a few years ago & Stevie G a few times too

          Hopefully it will stand

Yep so was Yaya Toure - City will miss them both; this is a great opportunity to get to the final

BTW doesnt Kompany miss 4 games as it's his 2nd straight red this season?

IMO because it was "two footed" it gives them the perfect chance to uphold the red card. Be amazed if it's overturned...which is a joke really as it was never a red in a million years.

A yellow would have been harsh imho - 5 years ago we'd have just played on..... at the risk of sounding like Jamie Redknapp the games turning into a non-contact sport....

It was and it wasnt situation .... obviously it was a perfectly good tackle but theres enough there for the ref to defend his decision, which is were the problem lies with football these days .. very little common sense is prevailing .. its all either or, I understand the need to protect footballers but the level of or lack of refereeing is just ruining the game and eventually people will start to switch off, if its just year in year out getting ****ing by incompetent refs who are easily influenced by home crowds, players or bigger teams

Kompany appeal is fast-track, so it will be overturned or upheld by 6pm Tuesday.

Could increase it to 5 if they feel it is a frivolous appeal

#MCFC appeal over Kompany's red card... a referee I spoke to tells me they are unlikely to succeed. Reason being, in law, ref is right, says

my ex prem ref. even if there is a disparity with what fans and players want to be reds & the way the refs take the law. that needs sorting

I'd be amazed if it was overturned.

It was a red by the letter of the law, even though the law is an ass.

If we can't beat City without the Toures and Kompany in either leg (and I'd be surprised if Aguero plays on Wednesday after playing the full 90 yesterday), we don't deserve to be in the final.

The only reason I can even imagine the FA would consider overturning this is because they know it will piss us off.

Well, there is that, but I've not quite got to that stage yet, as tempting as it is...
