I don't think so......whatever about Coates (who the jury is naturally out on), Kenny knows what Carra can usually offer against a, shall we say it, limited offensive line (which was never gonna advance beyond what was expected).
His explanation is no more than total codswallop for the media (that he doesn't really believe himself), or the reasoning of a Bodgson.
I know which one the explanation is, although it still doesn't explain how it happened.

I'm sure he expected much, much more from Jose going forward......Glen's product was random, but it was at least there to be counted.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis on Liverpool's tactics and his side's 0-0 draw at Anfield: "When we got the Liverpool team it looked like they would play with three centre halves so we made some adjustments and in the short time it took for us to discuss it and transfer it to the pitch the lads did brilliantly. They are a very, very good side Liverpool, so it is a great result. Four points against Liverpool over the season and we are doing somersaults. The attacking side was a little disappointing for us because we got in good positions but gave the ball away

To me it is much deeper issue that will not be resolved with our current squad no matter what formation or tactics we deploy.
Because we didn't score in 30 minutes doesn't mean that we wouldn't score in 90. How many midfielders did we have charging into the box looking to get on the end of things?

Surely we should let other teams worry about us , rather than us trying to limit them? We were at home ffs

i thought he might have been thinking that coates needed some guidance out there with a view toward playing him on his own beside a quiet defender who speaks with a heavy slavic accent in the near future.

Yes; it sounded like Carragher + Coates = Agger. Going by the Oldham game that was a concern, but against Stoke away in the Carling Cup Coates did pretty well.

The decision to drop both Carroll and Bellamy and play Kuyt as a lone striker was quite incredible. Ridiculous. Diabolical.

Benitez tried it on many occasions without any success whatsoever and you have to be blind and deaf to not understand that it has never worked and it never will work. I cannot believe that we keep trying Dirk as a lone striker. What the **** Kenny. What the ****

And yet certain people on this forum have stated its imperative not to play Carroll because he isnt good enough and isnt suited to our style

As for Bellamy its accepted he can only start 1 game per week because of his knees

If we play him two games in a row we risk losing him for awhile

                      Dalglish cant win

If he'd have played Carroll and drawn he would have been panned also

Alwyays one of Rafa's problems to. When kenny came to the helm we didnt give a **** and playrd everyone our own way......seems we are low on confidence and not approaching games i the same way.

Must be ahrd though knowing if you concede we will struggle to get 2

Hopefully FSG/JWH will wake up from all this moneyball rubbish.

Waste of money Carroll, Adam, Downing - certain several of our reserves/youth would have put in much better performances had they been given the same number of minutes at these three.

Cowardly playing three CBs against a ****e team at home.

Kenny better not put all the blame on any of the ref's decisions.

Better Stevie G is feeling great about signing that new contract already.
                          Its not bull**** about Bellamy

                          His knees are ****ed

IF we play him in games in a row we risk losing him for a long period

Sadly thats the reality of the situation with Bellamy

The buys by KD and the shocking tactics are painful to watch

I agree, but the problem does boil down to buying **** players, for which, Kenny will have to take some stick unfortunately.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I think most can agree Kuyt looks shot this season, and to be fair V is right, He has never been a lone striker.

Carroll has been bad this season, but Kuyt has looked worse and at least Carollhas shown rare glimpses this year he has something there.

How will he get his Mojo back if he doesnt play regularly?
