Moments earlier, Carroll had linked and gone right as well, only Downing had to wait and hold the play whilst we waited for players to get in the box.

Bit odd to be watching a man utd training match at Anfield on a Saturday. The shape is all wrong. We've been completely bossed by their aging midfield and we are very lucky to be still in it. No glossing over that, we were mullered that half.

I thought we were the better side for 25 mins or so then we sat back and let them back into it. We need to improve in the second half as they were dominating the game for the last 20 mins.
