I've learned when it comes to our players anytime they say 'he's close' and 'might be playing next game', I go and add an extra 2-3 games to it.

Id like to see Sterling on the bench at the very least.

Villas squad is full of injuries isnt it?

Yeah, I'm desperately hoping he's not out of his element.

Doni was first team keeper at Roma a couple of years ago wasnt he? He might be a bit rusty but im sure he will be fine, think our defence will give him a couple of early touches sp he can find his feet and after that he'll feel his way in. He will have played in big games before.

looks like Coady was part of that training session going by the pictures.

We really have been done in by injuries this season.
Had Lucas, Bellamy, Agger and Johnson stayed fit throughout, I've no doubt that CL position would still be within touching distance.

I'm excited by tomorrow's game...only to check the teamsheet for Sterling's name. That excitement will turn to apathy if he's not there for this FA Cup practice match.

No, we still lack too much quality in midfield.

Thats not realistic. All teams have injuries and players that are out for long period. Our only true long-term absentee is Lucas. The rest have all missed just a month or 2. There are teams with bigger injury problems with us so its not a worthwhile excuse.

Its a lack of effort and passion from certain players thats held us back
