Going tomorrow and couldnt be less excited. Probably the least arsed i've ever been about a match.

At least Villa are on a run as dire as us. Does that mean we'll win? Just wish i could have some confidence that we will....

I agree that if those players had stayed fit we would have done much better (unlike Matt I do agree 4th was possible). However, you really can't go into a season expecting to have Bellamy and Agger available for more than 50-60% of games and we knew that when we started. You can add Gerrard to that list too if you ask me. One major new injury in a season doesn't seem something that should have totally ruined us.

When January came I really can't understand not looking to get a replacement (even on loan) for Lucas.

You could also argue that Suarez getting banned had a significant impact.

Think I will give all streaming/radio/soccer Saturday a swerve and check the result at 5pm

going tomorrow and sad to say I feel I'm really not that arsed about it at all. Frustrating feeling like this as I've not been much this season but we're now playing for 7th

              Absolutely.

Agger' injuries or lack of availability for Bellamy due to ongoing knee problems are well documented and we should have been better prepared to deal with their absences.

Also GJ (and Kelly's for that matter) health problems seems to happening quite regularly in last 2 years so it cannot really be surprising that they were all absent a lot this season too.

In fairness, nobody expected Lucas to be gone for the season and his injury was a key to our season but Gerrard not being available for a long time, Suarez 8+1 ban didn't help neither.

Football is the game of momentum and losing them here and there clearly affected our point productivity and style of play that we wanted to showcase.

That said, injuries are part and parcel of football and it affects other clubs in the similar fashion as it had an impact on us and I hope we don't use that as an excuse, which is one more reason to have deep and reliable bench and that is imo what we don't have (compared to other top teams).

I hope we learned our lessons cause imo we need to be smarter and buy players that can play regular football and genuinely carry the game if called upon rather than being one game or few game band-aid type of solution.

Aston Villa are really bare at the moment, their squad decimated by injuries and lack of quality.

This should be a routine win in all honesty (even though they've been severely lacking). They'll probably just sit back, absorb pressure and try and nick something on the break or a set piece.

We're terrible yeah, but Aston Villa are in another realm of terrible.

I think we will win by a minimum of three goals.

Have we won a league game by 3 goals this season?
