To some players it is not just all about the money, believe it or not. And we can pay a fairly large salary, just ask Cole and Downing.

      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

What is "kiss me in the face true" anyway?

        All sounds a bit Partridge.

Very different time period. We were on the up with Champions League football every year, and improving year on year.

The summer of 2011 was the opportunity to go big, even without Champions League football. It was a chance to make our mark and show our ambition. We didn't, and now we're paying for it.

So far, from what I can remember, every single window since FSG took over have been majorly dissapointing.

Before anyone mentions Suarez, I will say Torres. And Carroll.

While everyone’s getting heated up about Goetze, is no-one else astounded by this quote:

“The way we looked at it, we were selling two players – Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel – and we were bringing two in – Suarez and Carroll – and we were making a profit and the wage bill was coming down considerably as well. It was a four-player deal.” – Comolli

I know this is what was speculated at the time, but to actually hear him admit it smacks of amateurism. How is that sound financial management? Great to get the wage bill down, but you can’t let buying fees be determined in this way. It’s like selling a massive six bedroom mansion for two million pounds then buying a ****ty bedsit in Mansfield for one million and being chuffed because you’ve saved one million and it’s cheaper to heat.

Or this logic from our very own principal owner:

"The negotiation for us was simply the difference in prices paid by Chelsea and to Newcastle.

"Those prices could have been £35 million [for Torres] and £20 million [for Carroll], 40 and 25 or 50 and 35. It was ultimately up to Newcastle how much this was all going to cost. They [Newcastle] made a hell of a deal. We felt the same way."

If you're replying to my post - where do I say the EPL is the BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD?

I don't but it is pretty unique in its speed and intensity.

I was being sarcastic - the guy tears up the Bundesliga routinely so there is absolutely no reason to suspect he couldn't do it in England. The Premier League is on the slide in terms of quality.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

It really hurts when i think DC and KD preffered Henderson when Gotze was offered to us more than when we paid 35m for Caroll.. Gotze would hav been a dream signing... I cant understand why they would prefer Hendo... though I like hendo he can never be as good as Gotze...
