Pace is a great attribute to have but I'd rather see some good technical footballers bought in, would be handy to have one kick and rush type player (bale ish) but no more than that.

List of players listed above should be the types we're in for

      Intelligence would be helpful too.

We've had a mixed bag over the years.
      Oh I don't know.

Usually we get attacking players with one attribute like pace, intelligence or guile, can't remember many players where two ot ouf three apply.

        Maxi - Intelligence
        Downing - Nothing
        Babel - Pace
        Cisse - Pace
        Garcia - Intelligence and guile
        Torres - Intelligence and pace
        Benni - Intelligence and guile
Kuyt - Well, he works his socks off
        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Brilliant movement. When you watch him up close he never stops moving, always making himself available. Granted his touch can be a bit heavy and he's never been fast but definitely a very intelligent player......made the most of what he had. Great mentality.

I'd keep him on for another year at least.

Dirk was a great player, getting on a bit now.

According to Tommo on RAWK, Frank McParland has been offered the DOF role and Borrell may be promoted to Assistant Manager.

                          Why?

If we have other coaches in mind to come in at youth level (or people in place ready to be promoted) I think it makes sense. DoF could become a development/organising scouting/board liaison role with a more traditional manager operating alongside him. From my point of view we need a first team coach who has had success in the past making players successful in the final third with a lot of possession/territory. It seems plausible Borell might fit that criteria.

dave, mostly because steve clarke is there. also i can't imagine that a rudderless team with trouble negotiating in the market is thinking "what we need is to involve a guy from the academy who was fired from here recently."

                                I'm always the one.

Still think that a different DoF is the only way to go if we keep Kenny though.
