Reds name strong squad for Singapore

Liverpool will travel to Singapore today to contest the inaugural NexLions Cup having named their strongest possible U19 squad.
The tournament, which kicks off on December 14, will see the Reds face a Singapore XI before taking on either Manchester United or Sporting Lisbon in the tournament final or third-place play-off on December 16.
Amongst the squad, officially confirmed today, are four players who have tasted first-team action since Brendan Rodgers arrived at the club.
Adam Morgan, an unused substitute against West Ham on Sunday, Samed Yesil, defender Ryan McLaughlin and forward Jerome Sinclair, who became Liverpool's youngest ever player when he came on during the Reds' 2-1 Capital One Cup win over West Brom earlier this season, will all travel.
For Academy manager Frank McParland, Liverpool's involvement represents more than just an opportunity for the youngsters to win some silverware.
"It promises to be a fantastic experience for the boys," claimed McParland.
"It will be a great learning curve for our young players and a great opportunity for them to compete against some of the world's most promising players. It also gives us a chance to meet and play in front of our passionate fans in Singapore.
"I think the trip will be just as important for what happens off the pitch as well as on it in terms of the players' development. They'll go on two flights for 16 hours, they'll get used to the travelling and being in hotels with a lot of down time.
"And while we're there we'll also be going into schools and they'll be doing a lot of media - so it's not just about the football. It's about learning to be a footballer and, more importantly, it's about learning to be a Liverpool footballer."
The full LFC squad for the NexLions Cup is as follows:
Yusuf Mersin, Ryan Fulton, Lloyd Jones, Ryan McLaughlin, Brad Smith, Jordan Lussey, Daniel Trickett-Smith, Jack Dunn, Kristoffer Peterson, Marc Pelosi, Adam Morgan, Samed Yesil, Jerome Sinclair, Yalany Baio, Jordon Ibe, Niall Heaton, Joe Maguire.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Who the hell is Yusuf Mersin? He's the only name there that's new to me.
Will be great experience for the lads and I'm hoping Yesil, Ryan, Ibe and Sinclair shine as always. However, if we're playing Singapore senior side then i can't see our midfield and CBs/LB coping I'm afraid. At least we'll polish off the tour by beating manure in the 3rd place play-off.
One tit for another.

i watched the final vs sporting, they have some absolutely class prospects and deservedly won.
Ibe, Mclaughlin and Pelosi looked encouraging.
I have no idea what Yalany Baio is doing at the club or how he even came to be signed.
I don't think Adam Morgan will make it, he was disappointing, also for some reason i just dislike him, always yelling at his team mates for no reason and then not performing himself, it just seemed a little arrogant. Theres nothing wrong with being vocal as a leader but it should be done in the right way.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

He was very underwhelming unfortunately, but that was the one game i have seen him in so probably a bit unfair. Although from what i saw he is quite slow and sometimes this forces him to make stupid clumsy tackles when he knows he is beaten for pace.Originally posted by BigChief View PostBaio is considered a decent find. Was he bad? Morgan is probably getting frustrated that Jan transfer window is coming and he still hasn't been given a shot despite being the teachers pet. Probably no chance after we get some strikers in.
Adam Morgan the teachers pet
