Youngsters set to face Reds at St George's Park

ALBION’s Barclays Under-18 Premier League fixture with Liverpool will now take place at St George’s Park tomorrow night (Wednesday - ko 7pm).

The Group One clash was originally scheduled to be played at the Reds' Kirkby academy on Saturday but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

And the rearranged fixture will now take place on the showpiece pitch at The Football Association’s National Football Centre in Burton-Upon-Trent.

Kris Peterson scored a fine goal as Liverpool U18s drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at St George's Park on Wednesday night.

With Saturday's original date postponed due to a frozen Academy surface, it was agreed to play the game at St George's Park on the showpiece pitch at the Football Association's National Football Centre in Burton-Upon-Trent.

Steve Cooper's side played some brilliant football at times and created some glorious opportunities, and could have won the game with skipper Jordan Lussey missing a late penalty.

Jack Dunn had a fine match and he, Jerome Sinclair and Daniel Trickett-Smith all had great chances.

The Baggies took the lead against the run of play but Peterson levelled things up from a pass from Trickett-Smith.

Reflecting on the 90 minutes, U18s boss Steve Cooper told Liverpoolfc.com: "I was really pleased with the performance. We played with the right intention and style and if we play like that we will be alright.

"We did create a lot of chances, we missed a penalty and we just need to be more clinical at times, but overall I've got no complaints because we played some great stuff.

"It was great for the lads to play at St George's Park. The facilities are top class and we enjoyed the experience."

Liverpool U18s team: Ryan Fulton, Connor Randall, Joe Maguire, Lloyd Jones, Daniel Cleary, Jordan Lussey, Jack Dunn, Jordan Rossiter, Jerome Sinclair, Daniel Trickett-Smith, Kris Peterson (Sam Gainford 80). Subs unused: Yusuf Mersin, Niall Heaton, Yalany Baio, Cameron Brannagan.
Hope Dunn stays fit, I like the looks of him. Seems suited to BR's style too.

marc pelosi is another one to watch.

silky on the ball and great passer too. left footed which gives plenty of balance.

really good player but needs to get a chance sooner than later.

What's happened to Teixiera? He was injured for a bit right?

According to a recent interview with McPharland (I think) they discovered he had a bad back before we signed him but because he was so good they went through with the signing, thinking and hoping they could cure it. That's why he barley played for months and was introduced so slowly, but he's starting matches regularly now and looks the part. Club rate him 'very highly'.

Cheers Reet. I thought when we signed him he was likely to be a very special player for us. That all makes sense now as he's one for the future if we take care of him.
