Considering we had so many players on the cusp of the first team we were absolute ****. Froze my nuts off for that! No passion or determination. I thought Shelvey would excel at this level, but he is just woeful.

Thought Shelvey did ok, played in midfield and both full back positions.
What did you make of the Utd fans?

Very happy for the lad.

Every time I saw him in those few games that he played I thought he left a very positive impression and tonight wasn't any different.

He can play.

So what does that mean? He was ****. There wasn't much quality in either side, but on paper we should have won that game. I don't care what anyone else thinks I can only give my own opinion. Shelvey seemed to be trying which is commendable, but he was rubbish tonight. A couple of decent passes, but generally very poor.

They were scumbags. Singing "you black *******" when Sterling stayed down injured, a pitch invasion and throwing flares - ****ing scum.

Shevley was arguably the best player on the pitch. Him, Butner, Teixeria and that Belgian boy for United were the stand out performers.

It meant I was interested to know why you said that when two extra-pros said the opposite. Subsequently you've given your reasons. Fine, it's about opinions which is why this site exists. I'm not saying yours doesn't count, just wondered why you said what you did.

Suso has apologised or his poor peformance via Twitter, citing a dodgy tummy as the reason he was not on his game. DOesn't really matter but am I alone in thinking the pressure to perform and expectaions from fans even at U21 is just a bit ridiculous?

When almost half the team are on the periphery of the first team it isn't ridiculous to expect them to play decent football. They weren't just playing any old team either - it was against the Mancs. I think negative views can appear much more harsh on a cold computer screen, but it was disappointing to see such little talent on display.

A lot of those players earn more than many other players playing week in/ week out in the Premier League so expectations when playing against another reserve team should be high. They get pop star wages so should play like pop stars.

i would prefer them to play like footballers, but hey ho. i guess i'll have to settle for athletes who play sports like singers.
