Our first half team was good. Second half team was a bit off the boil (to be expected with the more inexperience). Good game to watch though. Very encouraging considering most of our team were young-uns. I can't wait to see who Rodgers decides will be sold and brought in. That will make or break our season I think.

I agree but I think Rodgers is using this preseason to decide who can definitely be sold and who has the potential to fit into his system. This is the only chance he has to watch them in something resembling a competitive game.

No No everybody must play brilliantly and if we lose somebody needs to be nailed to a Cross .. the crowd have decided todays winner is Charlie Adam

To be fair though, its only logical when you watch a football match to then comment on what you see, positive and negative. It being a pre-season friendly means there no reason for pitchforks but you can hardly expect everyone to jump up and down about a rather average looking performance. Plus most of the discussion about Adam (which is miles away from a crucifixion btw) is more general about his role than specific to the game... again fair enough really.

Overall yeah encouraging stuff, the first 60 minutes was excellent, still not comfortable with Carra anywhere near the team, the young Irish lad at RB did very well out there for his first start in the Senior team, and Jonjo was Boss, obviously

I still think people are too quick to Judge Adam, they have decided what kind of player he is and it does not always match his performances overall, very reminensent of Lucas & Carra when he also was nowhere near good enough

Yeah definitely. Especially when some players very likely to be first team regulars, ie Gerrard, Reina, Suarez, Borini... and the likes of Henderson, Downing and Carroll too, aren't available to play yet it only makes sense for him to get a proper look at what else is in the squad and who he might want to keep long term / look to move on.

its all very convivial having a man of the match, but we need to introduce a donkey of the match award. then, to take matters a step further, and encourage a more business like approach and to prevent any players who cant be arsed not putting in the effort, they can get a flogging at the end of the game while tied to the goal posts at the end our fans are occupying.

Yeah, only Lucas was 21 (and Carra was young too at that time). Adam... isn't. And he's probably the worst tackler I've ever seen, or at least level with Paul Scholes. And much though I hate the ginger ****, Scholes was 10x the player overall that Adam is.

We had a whole season of watching Adam play and he was decidedly average. He might improve, but he also might not, and if he doesn't it is utterly valid to suggest that he'd be a great player for a team like, I dunno, Villa say, and could they give us £5m please.

What do people think Pachecos chances of being involved this season are?

Not at all sure. At the moment we do look a little bit light of cover in forward positions, if we're going to play 4-3-3 I can see Pacheco getting a few games here and there. In some ways you'd think he might be a player Rodgers would think he can do something with. Make or break season for him at Anfield I think.

Or he might get sold in the next month. Really hard to know

quite right. and are we really going to allow adam to drag our team performances down to his level while we wait to see if he can improve his game... nah.
