You know what, its getting like having Rashid back on the forum, but a Rashid not even bothering to explain himself properly.

What are you suggesting, we shouldn't move on players on huge salaries who are not expected to contribute much to the season to come, nor who are going to form a part of the club's long term future? You think St Rafa wouldn't have moved those players on now if he was in charge?

And while you're at it, how much money would you expect us to be spending? Given we were not in Europe at all last year, have (or had) very high overall salaries, and that the previous regime blew a **** load of cash on underwhelming players we now can't sell?

Absolutely. It really isn't bad spending. In fact its not half bad at all. Screw all this nonsense with "saved wages" offsetting that, our wage bill was far too high for a team that finished 7th last year and isn't a favourite to get back in the CL this year, trimming it down to reasonable levels allows us to spend this £20m+ net rather than having nothing. We're spending "within our means" but also not holding back either. How much do people reasonably expect us to be able to spend? How much are our direct rivals right now spending?

Sahin on loan and Tello for 5 million, then sell Carroll, Adam, Cole and one of Henderson or Downing and use the raised funds to buy a top class striker.

        Lucas Sahin
        Allen
        Gerrard Suarez
        New striker

Backup - Borini, Tello, Sterling and either Downing or Henderson
Didn't mention our back 4 because as things stand we have a very good defensive unit.

I know that's FM nonsense but hey it is silly season after all.

Well we're getting worse position wise since they took over and we're targetting average players to say the least.
          Are we winning?

Our slide down the league is not FSG's fault, they strongly backed Dalglish and Commoli in the transfer market, it's not FSG's fault that they flushed 80 million pounds down on the toilet.

Borini is not average and from what I've seen neither is Allen. We've also been strongly linked with Sahin, Affelay and Tello, all exciting young players.

How you must wish that we could go back to the good old days when Dalglish signed quality players, eh ?

            Ah, the good old days.........

Doesn't mean we can't sign crap again. And so much for differing opinions in here without being sarky.

But we're not signing crap, it was the previous manger that bought 80 million pounds worth of crap.
If I'm coming across as being sarky I think it's because your constant whining about FSG and Rodgers is getting tiresome. Why can't you just accept that Dalglish failed as manager because of his own shortcomings and that he was backed by FSG ??
If you accepted that then maybe you could go back to supporting Liverpool Football Club instead of doing what you are now which is hoping and praying that Rodgers fails because he was appointed by FSG, the same FSG that sacked Kenny Dalglish because he delivered this club's worst league campaign in 50 years after wasting 80 million pounds on mid table ****e.

Yeah, you're right, we were so much better off with H&G in charge.

WTF dude? Currently, in less than 2 years, we've spent about £70m net and £150m overall in players. That's more than at any stage of our history. And as for targetting average players, considering our current league position, inability to offer CL football or compete in terms of wages with the big spenders, which players are you suggesting we target? Who are these supposedly "average" players?

Doesn't mean we will either. And if you don't want sarky then stop being so ridiculously OTT in your posts (and not even bothering to explain them properly). Seriously do you even support LFC any more?

Comolli should be held at least 50% responsible for the transfers

True. Thus they sacked him too.

I think Nige spends his days alternating between weeping over photos of Kenny and sticking pins into a doll of John Henry.

Kenny had the final say on transfers. Fact.
If we signed a player it's because Dalglish wanted him so I'd say he was more than 50% responsible. But whatever, as Michael just said Comolli was quite rightly sacked too.

Something that was well deserved and was on the cards from the day he started at the club

For the record I am on your side. I was merely pointing out that Dalglish shouldn't shoulder all the blame for transfers that didn't work out so well

FSG are well within their rights to ask brendan to be extra careful with the cash after the car crash that was kenny and damien.

im sure they'll back him if he really was struggling but i expect the idea is to sort the squad out first as best we can and then if we need another 20 mill or so to sign two important players (Allen may be one) then they'll fund him.
