Did anyone think the pens should have been given? I notice not a lot of people mentioning that. I thought neither of them were penalties and was utterly shocked that Agger got sent off.

Two atrocious decisions IMO.

The funny thing is I bet when we play Man City we'll put in a brilliant performance and Suarez will score a couple and everybody will be saying he's class again.

The match also proved once & for all that English refs are the worst in the world! Not saying a different ref would've changed the result but how Olsson wasn't booked at least once is a mystery to me. And Suarez got booked for challenging an offside decision & Long did the same thing in the 2nd half (not for offside but challenged a decision) but got nothing! ****ing hate English refs!!

Agreed. Phil Dowd had a bit of a 'mare.

Hopefully Rodgers will have learned an important lesson today, about how to play in difficult circumstances.

Being down to 10 men and playing so openly was a bad move, we needed to play tighter and a different style of play. I'm not too worried about the defence or the midfield when we have 11 players I think we'll be fine in those areas. The main area is the front three, the current wide two don't look up to the job, and I worry about Suarez being the focal point of the attack, as his finishing isn't great.

Must of been because they certainly didn't do so on the pitch... in fact they haven't done so since the season we just missed out on the title.

Sickening seeing that team to the **** we have today. We have no one else to blame but ourselves for the state we are in these days.

He is certainly class and like I said, I think he just needs to calm down in front of goal and then they will start flowing, but he certainly shouldn't be exempt from criticism. You don't score 35 goals in 33 league games, 49 in all competitions in that season if you are not a goalscorer. It doesn't matter what league you are in.

Alfonso Alves.. Check his stats out, the league matters. A LOT.

no not a whole match. but i think having someone run at them and play balls quickly in behind to suarez and borini would have kept them pegged back.

i think at 1-0 assaidi could have made a big difference from the bench today.

Was he eligable? I assumed he hadn't signed in time and that's why he wasn't involved.

But as I mentioned in the match thread I think we should have had Sterling on the bench instead of so many centre midfielders.

The second one was atrocious. He made no effort to get the ball, was looking at Carroll, led with his elbow and knew exactly what he was doing. Dowd just saw Carroll and from that point there was only player who was going to get a card and it certainly wasn't going to be Olsson...

Please, please, please Rodgers play Borini as a centre forward. He's a clinical finisher with very good movement. He's decent on the left but he's wasted there imo.

For all Suarez's qualities he's absolutely woeful in front of goal. I've said time and time again he's a scorer of great goal, but constantly misses the bread and butter chances. I love the guy but he shouldn't be used as a CF because he's just not clinical enough.

Agger's was a red card and penalty, defo.

The second one, well ... I think if a player accidently goes to kick the ball and it's nicked away it's one of those that is a foul anywhere else on the pitch, so maybe it is.

But then obstruction is a foul anywhere on the pitch and we didn't get a penalty for the Ridgewell (?) obstructing Borini going for the ball ...

Every striker misses chances they should really score. Every striker.

No top striker misses nearly as many as Suarez, he's so clearly not a finisher its painful arguing with people that think he is. He makes something out of nothing, make defenders look silly, on occasion does something that looks impossible. Works hard.

Things he can't do very well are; finish and win a race.
