We have replaced those two well but we still miss that one person that doesn't miss.
    Sahin for Lucas next week

Just didn't stop running, and his movement is exceptional. He looks a little bit raw for his age, but he has plenty of room for improvement. We could have a lethal striker on our hands if he can develop his finishing / composure.
I loved it when he won a corner and was getting the Kop pumped up! Always wanted one of our players to do something like that gets the place buzzing.

Can of worms maybe but after watching Joe Allen play in that role and with Sahin coming in, Lucas should not be in the team.

I thought Gerrard was very good today, I think its clear he is being told to play a more held back role.

Dictated the game with his passing at times.

Yes actually - I thought Shelvey was superb. Great to see him do so well after he had such a bad game against Hearts. That takes a lot of character. He's ahead of Henderson in the pecking order now too. He's going to be a very good player - seems to have the right character for it

Missed the game but by all accounts it sounds like we were unlucky today. Good to see we have made progress!! Any news on Lucas? Hope it is nothing serious.

So, we will have to put Arsenal to the sword to get our first win of the season. And Sahin will make his debut hopefully.

From missing him no end to this even being a possibility speaks volumes really. I think if he's fit then we should play him ahead of Shelvey still for the time being, but you're right he's certainly got a fight on his hands.

If any player should be worried about their place in the side it's Stevie for me at the moment! He needs to step up.

That too for a combined fee of less than 5 million

I think Shelvey has benefited enormously from his first team experience, he has taken confidence from it and it shows. He is decisive where Henderson, who I think is ahead of him for ability, can look lost.
He has that typical Essex boy swagger, confidence. That's what makes him an absolute beast compared to Henderson. That is something Henderson lacks.

Jesus, you just *had* to bring Rafa up didn't you.

I completely agree, think we can add Lucas to that list too to be fair, well in Rafa!

Downing,Spearing and Adam must be ****ting bricks. It's over for them at the club isn't it?

Glad Agger will be back for the next game Skrtel is not comfortable on the ball on the left , thought Coates played very well

Looking forward to the next 2 games

we brought in some very talented youngsters under Rafa and it's starting to show now. I'm not 100% certain he would have played today if Rafa was still in charge mind, Rodgers made a couple of big decisions today.
