    A good performance.

    I hope Lucas is OK.

We were the better side and deserved the victory.

I'm getting a bit worried about Gerrard, his performances over the last 12 months have been very average.

Allen looked good, sterling did well but will improve greatly. Kelly is definitely regressing.

Looking forward to seeing the sahib dimension added as we're playing with more pace.

far too early to judge though. We were piss poor last week, good today.
Gerrard looks a few yards off the pace to me.

Won't play every game of course but I think he'll be good for maybe 20/25 appearances this season. Looked ace for the Youth/Reserve teams over the last couple of years but you never know for sure till you give someone a go and he really looks a talent.
20/25 appearances for a 17 year old at a club like this is incredible really. If he gets that then he can be very proud of himself.

He's not a bonus, he's crucial. Kid needs to be a first team regular. Our best winger and the 2nd most dangerous attacking player in the team. I went there.

                Do we need Gerrard anymore?

One thing's for sure, based on last season, neither Coates nor Sterling would have started. Downing was seemingly teflon- coated and Dalglish seemed to be fixated on Carragher at the back, even when our season was effectively over and results meaningless.

****! I've just remembered about Sahin.

Haha! Excellent, exactly the kind of thing I expected him to say.

Anyone suggesting Skrtel should be bollocked has missed the point - we need to encourage the players to always be available for a short pass and always look for a short pass. Rom wasn't built in a day and mistakes will occur. Whether he should have hacked the ball away or not, rebuking him for looking for the short pass first would be counterproductive to efforts transitioning toward this philosophy.

I dont think Gerrard was poor somehow.

He put in a similar performance to Allen and Shelvey.

Think we jus expect more because of who he is.

I still think we need Gerrard because he's a very good player.

Perhaps we need to use him less / rotate / drop or whatever you want to call it. Might be better as an impact player now. I've faith in Rodgers to make the call though if he thinks it's the right thing to do.

I was thinking earlier too, we must have one of the youngest teams in the PL. Looks good for the future.

Sterling was exceptional today, great perormance. Just hope we don't burn the lad out. Good performance by all the team today.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

I have to agree with this, I think Kenny played Carragher based on their personal relationship. It was purely based on sentiment which as you said isn't right. Rodgers has got something about him I really like, planned on City playing 3-5-2 I don't think many others would have in fairness to him.

I think Gerrard had a decent game, it's just that the quality of the players around him seems better than it did.
