Liverpool 1-0 Anzhi - Post Match

Very good assured performance. Totally dominated possession and should have scored more.

I loved how at 1-0 we just kept the ball, even in the dying minutes we were comfortably passing the ball around and never panicked once.

Assaidi, Sahin and Downing kept the ball superbly. Skrtle and Agger were totally dominant and Wisdom impressed again

    Good win

We're improving steadily. Defensively we were excellent. Sahin and Gerrard in the middle were superb and controlled the midfield. Still lack that cutting edge. Final pass still not there and Suarez is a little bit too selfish at times but we're getting there.
    Are we winning?

Ah, and Sterling is going to be a ****ing superp player. He's tactically very very good for someone so young.

Defensive maturity. I think game by game we are starting to see it come together and we look far more stable and solid at the back. Assaidi and Sterling when he came on were an absolute class act on the wings. They should be our wingers and we should look to be giving Suso opportunities in a more central role imo. Assaidi is ****ing class. I am so impressed by him. Cannot believe he was 3m. I thought the only weak performer tonight was funnily enough Luis Suarez who seem to be really wasteful.

We gave the ball away for fun in injury time mate, they just didn't bother putting the ball in the box.

Like the rest of the squad though, he can't finish.

Excellent win for us and a 2nd clean sheet in a row.

Sterling looks like he is going to be one hell of a player

Cringfest from Brendan at the end there WITH Downing.

Good win though, Suarez is knackered, two games in a row now he's been woeful.

                  Another clean sheet, happy days.

                  Wisdom and Assaidi are great

A well deserved win and just as satisfying is the third clean sheet in a row - pretty impressive considering how much we've been shipping goals at the start of the season.

Assaidi and Wisdom were excellent. Suarez and Gerrard both very poor. Sahin again was anonymous I thought - that's the third or fourth game in a row he's looked off the pace. He could do with a spell on the bench.

And Stewart Downing - You beauty.

The Good: Assaidi, Sterling, Agger, Skrtel, Downing's goal, Wisdom
The Bad: Suarez, some of Downing's left back stuff, Agger's "goal", Gerrard
The Ugly: Suarez acting the dick, Johnson's air shot

I agree with this, I'd probably add Shelvey to Suarez in the not really up to much list.

I think we still need to find a way of getting more out the midfielders. Sahin especially.

Great night for us though, clean sheet, top of the group and Downing got a winner.

I think that the stage we're in, it's going to be steady progress. I think we're on our way to eradicate the stupid errors we were making early on. Still we're taking too many risks sometimes, but we're being more precise and confident with the way / philosophy that Rodgers is implementing.

I think people are being harsh on Sahin. His covering was good and his passing tidy. The midfield was a bit blunt with Gerrard so deep but we dominated posession and for most of the game had control of where the game was played.
