We had the last laugh though. Absolutely loved the way he ambled around all game without a fraction of the effort he puts in for us.

That could suggest he's already struggling with injury though?

Maybe controversial, but I think he's **** for us often and then pops up with a goal and all is forgotten. That in itself isn't a bad thing though as long as he scores or we win. I would rather face him if I were a defender than Suarez or van persie.

I hope he grows out of these niggling injuries. I'd love to see him play a few games at 100%.

But if a striker's function is to score goals then he is by definition, not ****. If I stood still for 89 minutes then scored then you could argue that I played well!

I think the use of the words "he's **** for us often" are demonstrably not true

I kind of know what you mean though, he does seem to have fairly average games where he has still managed a goal. He isn't constantly in it like Suarez, but as many of us have said for a while he is what we need. People like Coutinho, Suarez, Gerrard and the wing backs will cause problems/create opportunities, someone just needs to be there and be clinical.

He and BR have said that injury has been affecting him this season. Last season he showed he has more about his game than goals alone.

I'd say that's the mark of a good player though, that he can be having a stinker (not that I think Sturridge has had any stinkers for us), yet still tuck away a chance when he gets it.

Torres used to do that all the time for us.

He hasn't been anywhere near **** though, never mind often, just had a few average games in a row, even the West Brom game wasn't great despite the chip but to insinuate he doesn't do much but score is not true either imo.

The Studge is good at dropping deep to keep things going forward in the same way Suarez is. He is clearly much more than a poacher, as we have all seen the impressive strength, pace, dribbling and shot he possesses. His weaker points are probably heading, longer-range passing and his right foot.

I'd say he is a fairly complete striker who unfortunately is a bit injury prone.

Yet I have read on these very boards, that scoring goals alone isn't enough these days. I'm referring to various comments on Hernandez & Defoe, both goalscorers yet all round they offer little. But I don't think that's fair on Sturridge as his all round game is pretty good. I just think he has days he doesn't look too interested and coasts a bit. Or he try's to do too much, drops deep and slows the play. Minor gripes. Its more than a possibility the coasting/**** days are injury related (such as midweek for England). He just seems the sort of player that is always doubtful for a match to any number of different niggles. Its frustrating but no doubt more for him than us.

Oh and for the record I don't think Daniel Sturridge is a **** player in any shape or form merely I have seen him play in games where in my opinion he's been pretty **** during the 90 minutes. That is all. No hate campaign. No agenda.

He was excellent at holding the ball up againsrt United, despite only being about 60% fit.

From comparisons with Torres a few weeks ago, to '**** apart from the scoring'. Weee, this swing is fun.

Don't know if anyone else noticed but the England crowd had genuine excitement in their voices whenever Sturridge was on the ball. OK, he didn't perform but he brought everyone to the edge of their seats. That just shows the impact he's had on the premiership - and not just as a goalscorer.

That was probably one of the big criticisms before we signed him too (ignoring his stinking attitude, ha ha), that he had all teh skills but didn't score enough.
