Is he ****. We are paying plenty of other useless ****s a lot more combined than Daniel gets. If and I am only guessing, he is depressed, and thus feels unable to play, its understable and needs support imo. Or do we laugh at other people cowering in the shadows after suffering depression? He's played maybe a dozen games in the past year or so. He's our highest paid player along Milner and we can't really plan ahead with him in the squad, if he's depressed, which I doubt, the best course of action would be to come clean with it, but either way he's a huge drain on resources. I'm not saying laugh at him, but until it's clear what the problem is he will get pelters, it's just as likely that he's being over careful or being a prick as being depressed.

I noticed he wasn't sat in the stands yesterday with lallana, henderson and co. I read the interview from hamman yesterday, stating that sturridge would always pick up a little injury on Thursday or Friday which would rule him out for the weekend (at city). He's not up for the fight and is of no use to us for 60% of the time (at best). At the moment his £150k is coming out of a limited pot we allocate to salaries, meaning it restricts our actions in the transfer market, its for this reason alone that the club should seek to offload. Why ? you set a price that facilitates a move, hes gone. Unless he is not in a position to pass a medical

I think they will play him sparingly towards the end of the season, reducing the chances of him breaking down again, but with the aim of selling him off.

Because he has a contract guaranteeing him X amount of money for Y amount of time. If we want to end that agreement early we'll have to compensate him unless it can be proved there's been a breach of said contract.

You need to find a buyer firstly which won't be easy seeing as he's never fit and then there's the wage issue is someone going to pay him what he's on with us ? Probably not therefore as G says we will likely end up supplementing said wages to move him on.

Also there's the small matter of him actually agreeing to said move

If he has any aspirations to play in the Euros this summer he will need to get some games in before the end of the season.

IF he was to be fit by the end of the season there is no way he should be allowed play in the Euros. He would need a full pre season with the club and The Owls training methods will break him.
