I thought our front 3 were all pretty average yesterday. Studge I can just about excuse because he has been out for so long but Coutinho and Firmino were disappointing.

He'll get sharper with time, he's been out for 18 months for goodness sakes!

Kompany was back which made Otamendi play better and added to that they had Fernando & Fernandinho plugging most of the holes where the two above like to operate. City were solid yesterday and I think we missed a genuine pacy wide threat yesterday because Clichy and Sagna can be got at.

He can be. He's patchy though.

Fantastic defender and leader, just injury prone.

I don't think there are any fantastic defenders in the Premier League at the moment, he's just the best of the bunch. He's prone to massive errors the same as any of them.

His reading of the game was excellent - he cut out so many through balls yesterday.

Cant say on Rush as he was before my time, but I'm sure i recall seeing the odd one here and there in goal highlights.

Torres has taken loads of penalties. He used to take Atletico's before coming to us and probably would have taken ours had we not had Gerrard. He was pretty **** at them though.

                      Same for any defender, ever.

When he's fit and on form he's a WC defender. Very decent bloke as well.

Owen took penalties and had a garbage conversion rate.

re Kompany, yeah he's good, I'm not disputing that. I think we're in an era of poor defenders across the Premier League. I don't think he is better than any of the outstanding central defenders of the last decade or so - for example, Sami, Carragher, Vidic, Terry, Campbell, Ferdinand, Colin Hendry... the list goes on

Its not just the premier league. £50m for a player of David Luiz's abilities should be testament to that.

...so back to Studge, with his crying at the end of the game, he's either

                              a) playing to the cameras to show he cares about his football or
                              b) he's just a pretty emotional young man which goes along with his stance of 'I won't play if I'm not 100% fit'...

                              Not sure which one?
