Apart from the wonder goal he was absolutely ****ing **** (he was not alone though, the whole front 4 were pathetic, especially Shootinho, who was at his anonymous worst)
He's lost all of his pace and it shows. There was one little bit of play were it actually looked like he was running backwards trying to get onto a through ball. Lewandowski doesn't drift to the wide areas and drop so deep, he's practically playing in midfield. It doesn't help when the attacking trio behind him do not decide who is going to move into the striker's position when Sturridge drops deep or moves wide.Comment

Sturridge look tired towards the end of the game last night. He had that run into the channel towards the end of the game where he had a ten yard head start on the defender but looked like he was running through quicksand and was second to the ball.
As Phoenix has touched on, Sturridge was dropping deeper and deeper to pick up the ball in midfield. Whether a full pre-season will aid in his rehabilitation, I don't know, but Klopp has to address the link between midfield and attack and let Sturridge work his magic up top or rejig the entire attack from scratch.Comment
