Out of interest when did Sturidge last score in the PL? I know we haven’t played him much & there’s a reason for that too. He’s a shadow of his former self & not up to our standard.

Ings has scored goals in the Prem before joining us & before his serious injury. If Klopp, who sees him train every day by the way, thinks he’s still got it & can do a job for us when needed then that’s good enough for me.

Solanke hasn’t scored for us yet but I get the feeeling it’s only a matter of time. He looks smart & not out of place at all in our side & we have the luxury of easing him in whilst he trains & learns his role in the side.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

A goal down with 10 mins to go in an important game, who gives you hope of an equaliser coming on as a sub?

Out of Ings, Solanke and Sturridge then I suppose the most likely to score is Sturridge. Every time he receives the ball outside the box, shuffles sideways to make room then shoots off-target, there's always a chance it can be deflected in.

North of 7m a year in wages a year for an occasional sub (when fit) is profligate at best.

Once upon a time there was a great striker named Daniel Sturidge. Fairy tale stuff bud. He’s not the same player any more. In that situation you described I’d be calling for Solanke as he’s an aerial threat. Or a plan B as we like to call it. Not confident any of them would score though but at least Solanke & Ings would presss & hopefully force a mistake in their defence.

I'd be calling for an attacking mid who would could fetch in a fresh pair of legs whilst still fitting on our system.

Probably Lallana once we get the real Coutinho replacement. Possibly Ox.

I reckon Sturridge will be a good player again once he gets regular playtime in a system that suits him, strikers need confidence and chemistry. But he aint getting that here.

If the club are offered the reported 30m they'd have to take it for a player that has become so peripheral that he often doesn't make the bench even when fit. Solanke is more often than not the preferred option off the bench even if Daniel is sat their next to him.

                    Let him go.

Hope he defies the odds and regains some of his prowess.

Other than the practical side for us I do also agree with this. Think he's a decent bloke.

Solanke has looked lost and Ings was never good enough. Sturridge has genuinely quality, even if he has lost a yard.

The interesting thing about Solanke is that all the pundits seem to like him and aren't putting pressure on about the lack of goals. They all seem to think he just needs a goal for confidence and then he will push on. Hopefully they are right.

I think Solanke will be brilliant in about 2 years time......

If we were to sign a striker in the summer, then it might make sense for him to go on loan next season

                              whatever

Both fit our current style better than Dan does. It’s just the name you like yeah?

Ings will be sold in summer imo and it's early days for Solanke. In theory they may fit our style but Sturridge is more talented than both of them combined. I don't see this as a break out season for Solanke...needs time just a kid.
