Daniel in his prime would be a loss. Sadly the current version if he stayed would only be on the bench getting splinters in his arse which would inevitably get infected meaning he would be out for the rest of the season.

Everyone keeps repeating the same line about "if a ball is in the 6 yard box, you want Sturridge on the pitch to finish it off".
Injuries notwithstanding, when was the last time he actually finished one of those off? I remember last season he couldn't hit a barn door despite a few of those chances.
I like Sturridge, I feel bad for his injury history but I'm not upset about him leaving. Was muß, das muß.

Just saying he doesn't live up to the billing.Originally posted by Charly View PostMore recently than Ings or Solanke.
It all depends what happens in the next 30odd hours, as to whether it makes any sense.

City have had a £60m bid knocked back if you believe today's rumoursOriginally posted by Paddy View PostAnd then £50m or so for Riyad Mahrez.
That would do nicely.
Mahrez has handed in a transfer request so I suspect it might be more than a rumourBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I lost no sleep at this news.
He's barely farted for 3 season. We won't miss him at all."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

We would have hoped that we wouldn't have needed him anyway, but he was anot experienced back up option proven at PL and European level. Which with all due respect is something you can't say about Ings or Solanke. Yes Sturridge is past his best but IMO it's still a gamble letting him go with no replacementThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm perfectly fine with letting him go, he would hardly get any game time here anyways. He's been fit for a while and nowhere near the first team. He might be a good outright striker, but he doesn't fit our style of play under Klopp - if he ever manages to stay properly fit.
Ings and Solanke might not have his record of that 1½ good season, but they fit our style much better i.e. having the discipline, stamina, defensive awareness etc. to actually press up front and contribute in many areas.
