You do know his name is Rodgers not Rogers, right? Every time you get it wrong

I've seen a lot of people claiming Rodgers "****ed up" the starting line up. I think this is a bit harsh. The only thing he really should have done differently is probably started Henderson over Allen. It's easy to stay Sturridge should have started (especially after the affect he had when he came on), but Rodgers has said he had assessed him all week in training and clearly didn't think he was right to start. Don't think we're in a position to argue with that.

Our passing was really poor in the first half - again - not sure you can lay the blame at Rodgers for that. The players didn't seem able to do the simple things correctly.

But much better in the second half, Allen included, and the Suarez/Sturridge partnership looks to have a lot of potential. I'm excited to see them start together against Norwich.

Disappointed with the result, and although it's getting a bit tiresome saying this, there was some things to come away feeling positive about.

Lucas's tackling was mistimed and he was a ticking timebomb for a sending off.

      That was a sensible one.

Definitely deserved a point after that second half, had more than enough chances but yet again we only played better in the second half after Rodgers corrects his own rubbish starting XI decision.

For a start, 4-3-3 isn't working - certainly not against the big teams - because we just don't have the players for it yet and while we may do in time it's costing us points in games we should be winning or at least drawing.

Allen needs some more time on the bench, there's no logical reason for him to be playing ahead of Henderson at the moment.

Sturridge made a huge difference when he came on, hopefully it won't take him too long to get back to full fitness so he can start some games. We looked so different with him on.

Worst thing about the result for me - United didn't even play that well, we played **** (as so many teams have against them) and made them look great. Make no mistakes that they're currently an average side with an average squad but an incredibly potent forward line.

          Hey, it's Rodgers with a 'g'.
          Are we winning?

i know the predictive text when posting from my phone is a disaster!!

Well for me Henderson over Allen should have been a banker. Starting Wisdom & Downing was a mistake... but sure we are lacking options.

Completely agree with the bolded bit too.

We should use the money we have left and instead of getting Ince in lets go get an experience strong defensive midfield player who can control the midfield and add that steel we need.

So Paul Ince rather than Tom Ince
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The game wasn't for Allen today and it doesn't take a genius to work out why this wasn't the right game to pick him. The only person to blame for that is Rodgers.

I just don't think Allen is what we need in the middle of the park. He had 4 or 5 good games at the start of the season and instead of kicking on and improving he has regressed and should not be in the starting 11, however rodgers will keep playing him regardless IMO. Like you said today was down to Rodgers

Allen works perfectly - in theory - in the 4-3-3 that Rodgers wants to implement but it doesn't work right now with the rest of the players we have.

We need to use a system and a formation which suits the squad, not keep trying to bash square pegs into round holes.

shame the manager is so insistent on playing it his way with no plan b. the 2-1 or 1-2 in the middle doesnt seem to work at the moment, maybe as we dont have the beef we need to make this system work for us.
the midfield three get played through too easily, or bypassed with long balls or sharp passing.

it will be interesting to see some more comments in the 'style of play' thread
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Rodgers is very rigid on his system, sometimes needs to bend and change it up as we don't have the players to get the most out of what he wants.
