More **** posted is that Rodgers doesn't have a 'plan b' well 2nd half we played 4-2-3-1. That is exactly how we lined up with Suarez off Sturridge, Downing, Sterling then Borini in the wide positions with Gerrard and Allen/Henderson in the midfield 2.
Its easy to criticise with the benefit of hindsight but for me Rodgers picked a team to keep possession and stay compact before planning on introducing Sturridge, Borini and Henderson after an hour or so when they begin to tire and the game stretches.
Didn't work that way but I can see the logic.
And by the way in this fixture last season under Kenny was the most one sided 2-1 you'll ever see.
This time round we did more than enough 2nd half to get a point.
If Sturridge can get himself match fit quickly then we might start looking good before too long - it was great seeing him link up well with Suarez and scoring a poacher's goal (how many times this season has a keeper spilled it with no-one following in for us?). Disappointing how tame we were first half though, and the defending for their second was shameful.
Sterling needs a rest, and will hopefully get one now that Borini's back and Sturridge has signed.

You are mate, our wins where in 03/04 and 08/09. You are thinking 00/01 and 01/02.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostReally?
Maybe I'm going back 12 years then but I'm sure I can think of 4 wins.

Our midfield and tactics in the first half let us down.
That said, feel encouraged by Luis and Sturridge partnership.
the punish teams for slightest lapse.
Yup Suarez & Sturridge could be a very unpredictable and productive partnership... i hope

Given how long he's been out we can't really expect to see him back to his best this season
