I think the spin and downward trajectory makes it look like a deflected effort, but there was a side on angle shown last night (albeit from distance) that fails to show very little, if any at all IMO, change in flight after the initial kick.

Think Phil Neville confirmed there was a deflection, despite evidence to the contrary, same way he still insists the peno decision was right despite been beaten around the head with replays.

Cheers Mos - easily the MoM for me, just like WHU at the weekend he gave the opposition midfield a torrid time and they just couldn't deal with him at all. His combination of feints, turns, close control and passing are a joy to watch.

His influence is only going to increase as Sturridge gets back to full fitness and he's got another mobile target to pick out with his through balls.
