I think most would agree with you. The problem is all signs are pointing to us signing absolutely nobody else and losing our best player....

In the process making Klopp look like an idiot after all the coutinho not going anywhere stuff.

The question is will FSG put profit above everything else once again?

We aren't getting Keita, thats pretty much certain; in real terms i think we will look at this T/W in a couple of months(weeks even) & see in footballing terms as a we have regressed.

yeah kinda where I am at/point I was trying to make

I've said it in the thread about a year ago - coutinho will go this summer/January/next summer - he's gone

after torres/suarez saga's and then the likes of carragher/gerrard retiring I've lost that real love/connection for any of our current players including coutinho.

I recognise how good he and some of the others but there is no real love for them - (this could also be why we as a club seem to really struggle getting any good songs going for the current players?)

        I'm kinda numb to it

that said - I still love Liverpool and have a season ticket and I want to go every week and enjoy it - which if you sell your best players gets more and more difficult to do.

Had we signed we keita(£65m)/vvd(£50m)/a coutinho replacement (£30m) - And sold coutinho for like £120m then i'd not be as bothered - ok we've lost one quality player but i'd hope we'd strengthened the team overall

but if we sell him and we don't have two or three big signings come in then I do fear for us for the season.

Thats pretty much it in a nutshell; disillusioned & that makes me annoyed as for the past 40 years i have followed this club unconditionally; but now, whether its the vast sums of cash thrown around for owners (not ours...) or just a disheartening with LFC i am starting to not give a **** & i hate that.

                  Give it a rest man.

Where are Lallana, Sturridge and Clyne off to?

Yep, timing is way too suspicious. He's offski.

What would everyone think if we lost Phil *candle* but signed VVD and Keita?

We'd need one more for happy wouldn't we?

As others have said - if this was Keita we'd be saying he's on his way. Timing is far too convenient

Keita missed training during the summer and had a training ground scrap and he's still there. This place is weird, everyone moans about the crazy amount of injuries we get but now a knock means a player is off. Even Milner and Clyne have had injuries this pre season and they are both machines. Of course the timing will be linked but theres still not one good source saying he's going anywhere so i'll save the panic till then.

I agree with everything except the coincidence of the timing. It is possible he has a genuine injury, but.........

Lets hope he's not leaving, but with Barca, probably the one club he wants to go to scouring the market with £200m burning a hole in the back pocket it does feel slightly inevitable.

Either way it's ****. If anything if the injury is legit it's even more annoying. Great pre-season, then some bollocks injury days before it starts. I know everyone gets injuries but it feels like we're ****ing cursed. Can't remember the last time we had a full strength squad to pick from. Mane's out for ages, comes back, Lallana gets wiped out for months. Now Clyne and ****ing Coutinho.

I might be wrong and obviously we are a selling club until we start proving otherwise and keeping our best players but I honestly dont see it, not this summer anyway. It just makes no logical sense, we've got important games coming up which will fetch us 10s of millions if we win them, we can't even spend our own transfer budget so what hope do we have of spending that and a Coutinho budget?

We are already light outwide if he's playing central now and are already light in the centre anyway with Lallana's injury and 4 senior players for 3 spots. Plus Klopp has said a million times he's not for sale. Regardless of what he wants I dont think he'll kick off, he cant really afford to in a world cup year. I'd be amazed if he went and defo be up for rioting if he did, this would be the worst sale of the lot, not because he's better than Suarez but because of the timing, back in the CL, the money we already should have to push on etc so I just cant see it.
