Liverpool reject second Barcelona bid for Philippe Coutinho of £90m
Liverpool will not sell Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool have rejected a second mega bid worth £90 million from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.
Having rebuffed an earlier offer of £72 million, the Merseyside club has reiterated its stance on their 25-year-old midfielder and insist the Brazilian will not be sold in this window.
Barcelona have been preparing the next move for Coutinho for weeks, expressing confidence Liverpool will eventually relent. The bid of €100 million has now been lodged, but there is no sign of Jurgen Klopp or owner Fenway Sports Group changing their stance.
Although Coutinho wants to leave for the Nou Camp, Liverpool have made it clear on numerous occasions there are no circumstances and there is no price that would convince them to sell him this summer. Liverpool have no intention of entering negotiations for his transfer or naming a price.
Klopp told the player he would have to shelve his ambition to go to the Nou Camp in the aftermath of the first bid.
The Liverpool manager has been repeatedly asked about Coutinho’s future during pre-season, his remarks evolving from a polite insistence he would not be sold to an increasing exasperation that his word on the subject has not been interpreted as decisive.
It is inconceivable the Liverpool coach would consider allowing one of his key players leave at such a crucial stage of the team’s development, with one of the most important games of his reign on the immediate horizon.
Both Klopp and the club’s owner, Fenway Sports Group, are united on the subject, a position that has been well communicated publicly and privately despite the daily bulletins on the subject from Catalonia, some of which are being met on Merseyside with bemusement.
The latest offer comes as Coutinho is an injury doubt for Liverpool’s opening Premier League game having missed training again on Wednesday.
Coutinho has not trained for a week because of a sore back and his continued absence means he is running out of time to prove his fitness for the trip to Watford on Saturday.
The knock comes amid ongoing speculation about his future, and inevitably there will be cynicism about the timing of his absence as Barcelona continue their courtship.
Liverpool insist there is no link between Coutinho missing training and Barcelona’s efforts to sign him. He has been assessed by the club’s medical team and has been attending the training ground at Melwood every day for treatment.
If the midfielder is not available this weekend, Klopp will be eager to include him in the travelling party heading to Hoffenheim for the Champions League qualifier next week. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Would love for us to sign Keita and VVD but i think if you offered me a the choice that the tranny window would be closed right now, then i would take it.
I hope to **** we keep Phil.

Whether we sell or not remains to be seen but Barcelona bids haven't been anywhere near my valuation of himOriginally posted by Fredo View PostThe club's stance not to sell is reminiscent of our situation with Southampton and Leipzig. I think it's the main reason we are not bidding for Van Djyk and Klopp hinted at that over the week end.
If Neymar is worth £198m upfront then Coutinho is easily worth £120m minimum and maybe as high as £150m (with add ons)
If Barcelona get near to those figures I can imagine us having second thoughtsBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
