Fair enough that the comments are in the Times article behind the paywall. I guess I was clutching at straws in that I really didn't believe he would go that far. Genuinely conflicted about keeping him if Barcelona come back with a proper offer. I am not sure he has the kind of character Suarez had to be able to play through some crowd discontent if he was brought back into the fold at some point after not getting the move. You would love for a club to take a stand with these type of situations and say fair enough you don't want to play for us then fine rot in the reserves (even when willing to play again) and deny the transfer to send some of the power back the clubs. I don't want that club to be Liverpool though as it isn't a trail you want to have blazed when trying to sign players. Awful situation now.

Maddock in the mirror reporting details of the deal. Like wtf is this ****?

      Add on's

Winning multiple trophies in the same season
      Winning multiple Champions League titles
Winning the Ballon d’Or as the world’s best player
Winning multiple trophies and the Ballon D’Or in the same season

Fee - Payment of the basic £80m fee staggered over five years (I know this is normally the way but not when you have demanded upfront payment for Neymar)

All of those journalists have their own Twitter accounts which promote their own articles. Just follow them instead.

But when AnfieldHQ says something banal like "Klopp says Coutinhio is a nice person (Bascombe)"

Just quote Klopp ffs. Or link to the article.

I think this summer will see agents insist on release clauses in future contracts so players don't get caught with their pants down. They really aren't earning that 10%.

            That's what pisses me off

If they want him put in a ****ing serious bid with he bulk of it guaranteed. They get to £120m plus add ons I think we will sell

They haven't come remotely close to that and in reality their initial fee has not moved much at all. All they have done is bump up the add ons and make them more outlandish

Assuming you've just read the "Liverpool refusing to sell is damaging" piece then?

Nothing in the piece really explains how it is damaging

He says how unfair it must feel for Coutinho given Suarez and Sterling were allowed to leave, but they were very different situations. Suarez left a summer after he wanted out. Sterling wouldn't sign a new deal, and with both we knew the deal when the window opened. Coutinho just signed a new contract and was happy as a pig in **** until what, a couple of weeks before our opener?

Christ, Jermaine Jenas with his completely inconsequential analysis. In the same vein as Robbie Savage before him.

Whoever is in charge of BBC sport should really read the dictionary before they start attributing words such as analysis to faded sports stars trying to equate whatever is going on, to their own limited and biased experience. Which leads to the reinforcement of terrible preconceptions and stereotypes.

I've always thought that Rafa would have made an excellent pundit. As someone who actually understands what is happening, and more importantly, why.

Most players are no more than pawns so they shouldn't be given any more prominence than pawn status until they have proved that they possess an iota of insight.
                        Oh I don't know.

Also the fees we got for both Sterling and Suarez were reflective of the market

To me they have absolutely taken the piss regarding Coutinho fee especially after the bench mark setting Neymar fee they received

I can't believe Jenas is making money as pundit
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Jenas is a bloody idiot. A no mark player who could only dream of playing for a club like Liverpool when for him his peak was spurs and Newcastle. Absolutely ****e player.
