I am not here to start arguments.

But you have explicitly stated you disagree with the whole notion of polls.
you have explicitly stated you dont care what the majority of fans think
you have explicitly stated you think its worthless.
You have preemptively critisied how results will be interpreted

So why enter a poll thread ?
Do you do this in MOM threads ?
What is your aim ?

Its not it seems to talk about football. You would rather talk about statistics in an arrogant and condescending manner. As if polls as a method are more flawed than others.

Pseudo intellectuals argument, is exactly what your putting across. Your unable to accept, validate, and acknowledge any part of the counter argument even if it is against self-interest in the pursuit for greater understanding.

If thats "attacking you" well you need to get out more. On one hand your going into precise detail about experimental flaws. On the other hand you (purposely) miss the whole point of a poll/survey is that is taking a sample to get an idea of population. That is why 1 fan in every 100 coming from a single country is significant. That why your arguments comes across as than anything else.

Vast vast majority were happy. Got couple of complaints about the wording. I should have used "in your opinion" in front of "what position would make FSG happy"

And like on here people wished to have further options. To provide more detail.

There were also a few who made insults thinking that I had an agenda (to get Rodgers sacked) or was a reporter or a student project. But as a whole 99% of people were happy.

In a scientific manner yes you would. You would need to do say a t-test. However common sense should also apply

100 people in groups A and groups B

If 80% in group A, think the answer is YES
and 90 % of people in group B think the answer is NO

Academically it would be correct, scientifically it is correct. But if it is a black and white difference for the football forum it is overkill.

More or less agree with that. Just cautioning against the idea that a result in the sample would necessarily infer the same more broadly.

The questions are obviously the real thing open to criticism - I thought some were a bit too open to interpretation for instance which allows both random error and respondent bias in. Questionnaires are a complete ****ing nightmare to design, I wouldn't ever want to have to do one!

Don't feel any criticism from me btw is unappreciative of your time and effort in doing this. I just think it'd be a bit hollow of me criticising methods on seeing the results having been content to say nothing beforehand. Ultimately whether it gives us anything interesting or not it's good of you to take initiative to do this.

I've checked the other sites and he's not published the results yet. This was his last post on TIA though.

Just letting everyone know we have over a thousand responses, and that the poll is being run in parallel on all the major fan sites (RAWK, EST1892 and soon TLW)

I would question the fact EST being classed a major fan site
