Spot on but this is sometimes when the big two go missing as we become so predictable. With the firepower we had out there today, teams can't contain them all so goals are inevitable (if we hit the target.)Originally posted by Chris View PostYeah, we really need Gerrard and Suarez to go mental in that game and Sterling and Downing to contribute too. It's asking a lot. But despite all the bad defending we do keep quite a few clean sheets at home so maybe 2-0 and pens!Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Good result, let's hope it's a springboard to improve results from now on. We need to improve our mentality so that when we concede a goal we don't completely collapse. If we can be mentally stronger and resolve our defensive haphazardness then we will finish the season in a decent position. We are more than capable of top six this season if the manager can get us more organised and solid as a defensive unit when we're on the back foot.

Only one man for the job. Bring back BodgeOriginally posted by mulvokop View Postgreat result only papers over the cracks lfc goin nowhere with Brenda we need high profile manager who can give slackers a kick up the arse they know who they are!

There is no reason whatsoever to assume a "high profile" manager would do any better a job. Indeed the evidence from the previous 3 season suggests otherwise.
And as for giving "slackers a kick up the arse", is that not exactly what Rodgers has done this season with the likes of Downing, Enrique and Henderson?
Good lord. Your opinion is just that, opinion, not a universal truth so please don't present it as such.Originally posted by mulvokop View Postthe truth hurts I'm a die hard red but we are were we are because we have a second rate manager and **** owners who haven't a clue and what bridge are you on about?
And no, that absolutely isn't why we are where we are, considering we've been there for much longer than Rodgers has been in charge. Where is it you think we are anyway? And as for **** owners, well that's just ridiculous. A bit naive initially sure, but by most sensible measures are actually doing a pretty good job, certainly compared to what came before.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

I had a blast at Anfield yesterday, quite the contrast between that and Monday night but only in terms of goals - we played equally well against both side and could easily have scored as many goals against West Brom as we did against Swansea.
Phil had a great debut, not put off by the huge defenders he was facing and never stopped running. Suarez and Sturridge worked well despite arguing a few times when the other was being greedy and Johnson was back to his best with another stunning game.

Is it me or am I imagining it. Some of Rodgers biggest critics haven't posted on this thread yet. I'm sure if we'd lost or drawn they'd be on page 1
Good result. Glad we had a solid win especially now with a two week break before the next league game. It will keep the 'Brendan Rodgers' thread going into overdrive at least
It's fine lines really. We've played like that many times this season and got nothing. Playing our best attacking football in quite a while

Funny that isn't it... same how when a player you (not you personally, the collective "you") don't like has a great game.Originally posted by Sarb View PostIs it me or am I imagining it. We've played like that plenty of times this season... in fact, we've played better than that because there were periods where we couldn't get the ball back off Swansea... the only difference really was taking our chances and we still missed half a dozen really good chances, most notably Sturridge's header from 6 yards out.
As Laudrup said - could easily have been 10-0.

Agree totally with the above. Coutinho also missed a sitter and I thought it would be one of those games again. Regardless of people on here wanting to paint a different picture, we've played like that many times this season and either got a point or no points. We're definitely moving in the right direction. Going to be lots of ups and downs for sure.
Don't see Rodgers getting much credit for what Sturridge and Coutinho have already bought to the team....his signings.
