Yeah West Ham, but to answer your question I don't know. I like to think he feels like he is responsible for us winning as he is captain. But further than that who knows. He has been indifferent for England with and without the armband. So that's hardly a barometer.

Why, well, he is Lucas. If he played a **** game then he will admit it every time and say that it isn't good enough. The best isn't good enough, you can always be better than that.

A very very honest player that already lead by example on the pitch.
      Staying on topic.

Isn't Lucas generally felt to be out of form and not the same player since his injury?
      Oh I don't know.

Does it even matter one iota?

Gerrard was about 21 when he got it. Was he a good captain then? Did it hold us back? Was he better than Hyppia? Did it improve us?
If Gerrard hadn't been made Captain then he would probably be playing for another club now so it was the right thing to do back then.

Lucas has been much better the last 5 games or so. More like the player from 18 months ago.

Who knows. It's quite a big assumption.

He's been up and down, poor vs Spurs but he's had a few really decent games as well. I think it might take this season to see if he can get back to his best consitently

It takes time getting back to your best after being out for almost a year. The last few games he played much better.

I think that it also depends on the system, 4-2-3-1 instead of 4-3-3 have helped a lot.

Suarez. Leads by example (most of the time), he's our talisman. Oh and didn't he captain Ajax?

                      More, maybe. Long term though?

So to nominate him as captain now, being the player he currently is, is perhaps premature. If you value the role of captain, that is.
                      Oh I don't know.

That is correct. He had some personal problems and after being made Captain he played much better.

He took his responsibility as a Captain.

                          Indeed, I went for Agger

In all honesty does the captaincy really mean that much? You need leaders all over the pitch

I don't think it means that much. As you say you need to pack the team with leaders like Rafa did.

That would totally depend on who we sign though, we don't even know who that's going to be yet.

Allen is a fair call, given his standing with Rodgers.

Lucas seems the obvious choice, though I've a sneaky suspicion for Suarez if he's still here by then.

Allen won't get it, he might be a favourite (or so it seems) of BR but he doesn't play game in game out.

Gerrard will be captain for as long as he's playing IMO and then from who we have currently it'd be Pepe, Agger, Lucas or Suarez IMO
