Cos we only choose to engage in such a framework when it's not in our favour.

      That was Purslow, wasn't it?

Ayre was the Commercial Director back then.

Stevie Wonder could see how this one is going to play out......

        1. Ilori will start well for them.....whilst Lovren continues to do his really bad impression of a professional footballer. 65% of LFC fans will unite in their disgust.....and want a fork with both Lovrens and Rodgers head on it.

        2. Ilori will then make a high profile **** up that costs them 3 points against someone like Spurs. Meanwhile LFC get two 1-0 wins on the bounce to go 6th. 75% of LFC fans will participate in a 20,000 strong internet based group wank about the merits of Brendan Rodgers and the fact that Lovren pointing to Joe Gomez ten times a game proves that he is starting to show the kind of amazing organisational qualities that he had at Southampton.

        3. Ilori will then go on to be a bog standard defender but still better than Villa have in their squad. Their team will go on a bit of a cup run but nothing special. Meanwhile, Lovren will do an interview in the Echo saying that he has finally settled in, learnt the scouse accent that only Jordan Rossiter and Jon Flanagan have anyway but is now ready to take on the combined mantle as the new Emlyn Hughes, Phil Thompson and Jamie Carragher. That interview will be published on the morning of the Everton home game at the end of Feb. Everton will win that game 4-1 and there will be DvDs and Everton jerseys with "Lovren 4-1" on the back on sale in Everton-Two by the monday morning. 45% of LFC fans will stage a mass demonstration for Sakho to be put into the team.

        4. Ilori will finish the season okay. Well worth the £7.5m that Villa are due to shell out for him......especially when you consider that they have bid £14m for Ryan Shawcross. However, Sherwood will come out with something along the lines of "there's no way he is worth that money". He will eventually agree to signing him on another 2 year loan with an option to buy for a free transfer as the lads contract will be up after the 2 years anyway...... meanwhile, LFC will tie Lovren down to a new 5 year contract....

A bit late to this argument and could have quoted any number of posts, but I don't agree.

While I do agree that it is common procedure for clubs to have to accept the agreed fee in these deals, it's still up to the player to decide.

Theoretically, if Ilori has a great season for Villa and they bid the required amount, then we can still tell him he has a future here and offer him a better contract. I can't see him joining Villa ahead of us. Equally, he could have a great season and another club come in with a bigger offer and it's a win-win situation for us.

I think it's a good deal for all parties.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

According to the Telegraph, Villa are ready to scrap the loan deal and send him back without making a single appearance...how bad is he?

He could be excellent but they're in the **** and defence is an area where mistakes are punished quickly. So how would it look if they played him and they lost points? It's not a good place for a loanee to be.

You're probably right, would've been good for him to get a run out in this league somewhere though.

he's got potential.....time for Klopp to work his magic

Good he's coming back. Villa fans also seem baffled at why he hasn't been given a chance but whatever, he's looked decent and talented whenever I've seen him with some reasonably unique attributes in his pace and being good on the ball but maybe he is ****, I dunno, we will see.

He always looked ok in the few games I've seen him but whether that would be the case in the Prem' . . . ?

Barring a miracle ... I would be amazed if he is still with us come the start of the 2016/17 season, that ship has already sailed me thinks

Heard some great reviews of his performances out on load, but I would rather focus on Gomez as our first choice future CB / Prospect

No ... **** him, off to the glue factory

Jesus 22 ... I thought he was 25 ... still if he cannot get into that ****ing Villa side it raises a small red flag ... my gut says its not going to work ... but hey I dont have strong feelings on him either way other than wishing him the best

It doesn't really, they're in trouble in fsct massive trouble and they're going to hope seasoned pros can get them out of the mess rather than a young kid on loan.

Exactly, and signed by someone else at that. Remy Garde obviously would have no loyalty to a loanee.
