I don't think Moses works in the middle and to be honest I would have made any sub to get Sterling off. I'd have put put Brad Jones at wingback to be honest!

I thought Alberto did well when he came on. We kept the ball much better.
Yeah my use of the word 'hooked' was misleading now that I've read it again. no better time to give Aspas 45 mins than when were 3 up.

We've got a lot of players playing out of position at present due to injuries & the manager wanting to change systems to accommodate this too. Moses does look a little lost in the middle but should have had a goal last night which would have papered over it a bit. Alberto does look promising I agree.

I do agree that he could be subbed off but that isn't going to happen.
I think the problem is he can't play as many games as he used to. I think we need to use him sparingly I think the problem is that we tend to think that we need to get Gerrard on the pitch as much as possible, I think we need to get a fully fit Gerrard who can contribute as much as possible on the pitch as often as possible. IMO a Gerrard playing two thirds of the games at 100% will offer more than a Gerrard playing to 2/3s of his ability in all the games.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Getting Johnson and Coutinho back is gonna make a massive difference to our team. If we can still churn out the results until we get them back in the side, we're gonna be in a very strong position.

I'd be tempted to play Henderson in Moses position for now and maybe even put Moses RWB. It's not ideal, but Moses is definitely more dangerous on the wing.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I can understand him struggling against better opposition but it was Crystal Palace and you would expect him to perform to a decent standard. He was awful and his final ball was shocking. He may be young but he will never make it - of that I am sure.

Rodgers commenting on yesterday's game "We haven't hit anywhere near the level, performance-wise, that we want to," Rodgers told BBC Sport.
"But we have shown we can win games even when we don't play at our best."

"It's not enough to just win games, for me, I'm very much someone who worries about playing well," former Swansea boss Rodgers said.

"We will take the three points here but we need to improve our level with the football.
"We put it at risk too much and that's a part of the system with the players that we've lost, so it's meant a shift to the structure and sometimes 3-5-2 is set up more as a counter attack."

I didn't think Sterling played too badly. He made a few mistakes, but he's only a kid. He was working hard and he was part of a team that won 3-1. At this stage of his career he just needs to keep working hard and he will improve. His decision making will get better.

We've lost 1 at the moment and still have to play United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton away as well as them all again at home except for United. That's 11 very tough games, I think its either City and Chelsea or Spurs and Chelsea we've got away in the space of 2/3 days over Christmas as well.

That's why I don't think we can afford another Southampton because we're likely to drop points away from home, places like Cardiff, West Ham, Stoke, Southampton and West Brom will prove difficult and there are always.

yeah I was surprised by comments that he was the worst player on the field for us? Like you said,he made a few mistakes, playing out of position & he's not in career best form. I won't be writing him off just yet.

Sterling was our worst player though. Agree we need to give him time or what's the point of bringing youngsters through? No doubt Ibe will have the same dips in form when it's his time.

I think too much is expected of him, he's very young and he's learning. He's got a great opportunity and I hope he takes it. I think Enrique was the worst player for us yesterday and he should have the experience to keep it simple when he's having a poor game. I think Enrique is a terrific player when he's on form, but yesterday he was woeful.

The youth lads always struggle for consistency early days & we fans should expect that & give them encouragement instead of slamming them.

Yeah Enrique was poor yesterday I agree. It's taking time for the change in style to get through to everyone plus new personnel but we'll get there.

He got better as the game progressed but that just means he cut down on the errors. He has little or no impact on games IMO and they seem to pass him by.

That said, he was better than Enrique

Sunday times player ratings. Wow, just...wow. Was he even at the game?

                            Liverpool: Mignolet 7, Skrtel 5, Toure 6, Sakho 5 (Agger, 67min), Sterling 6, Henderson 6, Moses 7 (Alberto, 66min), Gerrard 6, Enrique 7, Sturridge 7 (Aspas, 88min), Suarez 8

Apparently there were 5 better players than Henderson in our 11, and two of them were Moses and Enrique.

Giving Sakho a 5 is criminal too, he was playing really well until he went off.

That's clearly just made up bollocks. I thought Moses was quite effective, we were totally dominant until he went off.

                                Sakho with a 5

Clearly they didn't watch the game or have no clue about football
