I just figured we'd go on a run of destruction and decimation of all before us like we did in 08/09.Originally posted by Darkon View PostLove the optimism though
When I did it I got us in at 3rd about 80 points IIRC, and it's our away form that let's us down. I doubt we will win all our away games for the rest of the season considering how realitively weak we have been there.
I had City being quite lucky to get the draw btw

Who would have thought that we would be top of the league on the opening day, then at Xmas & in with a chance to finish top at the end?....what odds would we have gotten for that?
Thanks to Brendan & his players for making this season so sweet as the song from the lark!Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

There were 2 reasons we lost the title that year (apart from Howard Webb and Machedo); the 2 games against Stoke specifically the disallowed free kick from Stevie and the last minute shot in the other game (also from Stevie) that hit the inside of the post but came back out again.Originally posted by spider-neil View PostThe 08-09 team in the final 11 games won 10 and draw 1 (****ing arse shaving).
People talk about the 'Rafa Rant' being the reason we lost the title but that is simply an incredible run of results.
So close.

That was an awesome run, it felt like most of the wins were straight forward too. The thing is though from memory it never really felt like we were going to catch Man United so I think we were kind of cruising. This feels a little different.Originally posted by spider-neil View PostThe 08-09 team in the final 11 games won 10 and draw 1 (****ing arse shaving).

Yes. Seem to remember SG hitting the post against Stoke away.Originally posted by fah-q View PostThere were 2 reasons we lost the title that year (apart from Howard Webb and Machedo); the 2 games against Stoke specifically the disallowed free kick from Stevie and the last minute shot in the other game (also from Stevie) that hit the inside of the post but came back out again.

Why is that? Why wouldn't it be a midweek game?Originally posted by Liverpool View Postif city beat wigan its looking like we have to play them on a monday after a weekend game
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I always think of Spurs away and Arsenal at home.Originally posted by fah-q View PostThere were 2 reasons we lost the title that year (apart from Howard Webb and Machedo); the 2 games against Stoke specifically the disallowed free kick from Stevie and the last minute shot in the other game (also from Stevie) that hit the inside of the post but came back out again.

2 freak results, absolutely battered them both in those games yet only got 1 point from them.

Ahh, that was actually explained on here but I wasn't paying attention.Originally posted by john316 View PostUEFA block those nights because of Champions League fixtures taking precedent. Can only schedule games in exceptional circumstances.
I wonder if I could make it over on the cheap for a Monday night game.
