You could argue that Harry Kewell was too in Rafa' team

I was going to say Gerrard in all seriousness but thought a comedy answer would be funnier on a friday evening

      He was up there though.

Also Rafa inherited Djimi so your argument is invalid.
The times they are a changin'.

True but not at the level he is now, no way.

I think the big difference was that he has had he team built around him by Rodgers. The talent was so obviously there.

Obviously he has improved but I bet Ajax fans would disagree. They'd say all he's doing now is transferring that sort of scoring rate and the same sort of outrageous form (wonder goals et al) to a tougher league. Have you seen his goals compilation from his time there?! 81 goals in about 110 games.

Not trying to denigrate Rodgers in the slightest by the way. He's the one who's made him the fulcrum of the team and overseen this amazing run of form.

Agree with all of that but the fact remains that Suarez was not one of the top 3 or even top 6 players in the world before Brendan arrived either under Dalglish or at Ajax.

Much like Rafa built the team around Gerard, Rodgers has built his around Suarez.
                  Are we winning?

Rodgers on the other hand inherited a team that had finished 8th, couldn't score goals and was in relegation form, he's taken that and within 18 months we're title contenders and scoring goals at a rate not seen at this club in a very long time.
short memories and rose tinted glasses.

It was Gerrard who won us the CL and kept Rafa in a job
                    Another MASSIVE game

Checking for white text but there isn't any

There's no way in hell we would've won that cup had we not gone to 3-4-2-1 (or whatever you want to call it) at half time. Gerrard clearly had a huge input on the pitch but to not give Rafa any credit is bizarre. He totally freed him up with the formation change. Unless you're on a wind-up in which case as you were

I'm pulling your leg... but we wouldn't have got to the final if it hadn't been for Gerrard (no white text).

BTW - Rafa really isn't the messiah but it is sweet how some Liverpool fans jump to his defence if anyone dare mention the fact that he's a mere mortal.

If you were on any forums at the end of Houllier's reign, you may remember people saying Hyypia was past it and Carragher (who was then playing FB) was useless.

No doubt though your great memory will remember it differently.

I would also add Rafa brought Gerrard's game on as much as Rodgers has Suarez.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
