Ha ha, I started replying your last post JD and realised it was a waste of time, so no point in either of us continuing this.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostLucas biggest problem is that he's a defensive midfielder who no longer defends very well unless a lot of teammates are around him to defend too. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He will be lucky if he gets much to spend in Jan. He left £25m players on the bench who would have been better than the ones he selected
If Sakho doesnt start on Weds it is a joke. And Toure has showed why we needed to go out and buy another CB before the window closed. Woeful against Arsenal and now Hull. And I bet the City fans are laughing at his comments earlier this week that they must regret him leaving
He is nowhere near a Carragher. And Rodgers is right. When the ball comes in our area from open play our defending is shambolic. Every defender ****s themselves. Its nothing to do with agression. It is organisation
So ****ed off with that result. Kick in the nuts

Indeed, seemed like they could hardly control a ball today let alone pass properly, just one of those days hopefully and not a sign of whats to come without Sturridge. At least we've got 2 games in 6 days to get over it.Originally posted by topscorer View PostSo did the boys have their Christmas party last night?
They played like they had hangovers and full bellies!

Yeah, it worked last year when he was playing week in week out in that position, this season he's been playing next to Sturridge and he looked brutal today without support from any player next to him.Originally posted by RedReet View PostLike he played last year pre Sturridge and was on course to finish the season top scorer despite the fact a lot of people argued he couldn't play there?
Maybe it's about him re-adapting to being a lone striker but we've looked our best this season when playing 4-4-2.Rafa on Everton - "When you play against the smaller teams at Anfield you know the game will be narrow"

I agree, I said at half time that he was missing Sturridge and/or Coutinho, but I do think he proved last year he can easily play up front on his own under different circumstances.Originally posted by Bernardicus View PostYeah, it worked last year when he was playing week in week out in that position, this season he's been playing next to Sturridge and he looked brutal today without support from any player next to him.

But that isn't true.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostLucas biggest problem is that he's a defensive midfielder who no longer defends very well unless a lot of teammates are around him to defend too. Sturridge getting injured in the last training session before the game probably didn't help with the plans but even so we have to be able to cope with that. It's what a squad is for.
But everyone looked completely lethargic today.
I hope its just a blip but we cannot have too many blips if we have ambitions for a top 4.
City and Arsenal don't look like they are going to drop points at the moment. I think Chelsea will come through strong so really its the Mancs we need to stay above if we want 4th
