[QUOTE=rcasemore;2829894]I see the usual "world is ending" post match thread when we don't win

An individual error seemingly cost us the three points, without that error we'd have won the game I'm afraid all players from time to time make serious errors or judgement and sometimes it costs dearly.

    QUOTE]

of course people are going to react after a performance like that. the mistake was only a part of it. we deserved to get nothing more than a point. we were ****. just because you appear calm and at ease with the world, don't expect the rest of us to be.

    very patronising.

Cant just keep saying we are still in 4th as a reason its ok. We dropped 2 points. A chance to put Utd well out of it and Spurs 6 points behind. Now we are only 2 ahead of Everton. Our away record is piss poor. We should have hammered these lot. Villa smacked 4 past them. We didnt turn up in the 2nd half. Had my fill of the blatant complacency and inconsistency.

I thought it was obvious we were trying to do what we did against the blue ****e in mid week. Get the goal, soak the pressure and counter attack fast.

Unfortunately, West Brom don't see the game against us as one where they're supposed to pick up points, So being 1-0 down they're happier to sit further back and nick something from a set piece. They know that if they push up higher, we would be round the back and probably would have scored more, effectively killing themselves off by inviting our counter attack.

A stand out moment for me in that first half was in injury time, when we had a freekick in a decent position. Definitely a shooting position and we didn't have one player in the box, Suarez, Sturridge and Henderson around the ball and we worked it back to Mignolet. Satisfied to go hold on to the 1-0 lead. I'm not saying we would have definitely scored from that chance, but to me thats a serious lack of ambition.

Pissed off with the performance today, going through the motions, how many points are we going to throw away. It was a massive chance to put daylight between us in 4th and the rest of the teams below us.. but LFC being LFC we blew it, again.

The choice of not to strengthen in January, I believe, will come back to haunt us in the long run. Most of the players on our bench today wouldn't be a dead cert to start for West Brom or many of the other PL teams, which just shows how poor the squad is as a whole. You look to the bench to see if anyone could make a difference, but I don't see anyone on there besides Allen who's worthy of a start.

This result means that thrashing Everton at home means **** all really. We could have drawn against them and beaten West Brom today, and we'd still be in the same position. The blue ****e came from 1-0 down to win yesterday, and we can only stumble to a draw at West Brom. You'd think they Everton had won the derby, not us.

Oh well, the joys of supporting LFC, onto the next game.

I had a feeling that with results mostly going our way yesterday that we would slip up today. The performance was poor across the board, we looked as though we couldn't be arsed. Second half in particular we were very poor.

The squad is down to the bones, you looked at the bench today and it was a case of if the starting 11 don't do it there is nothing that this lot could do to win us the game. Where the problems lie though are with the defence and midfield, the sooner we don't have Cissokho and Toure in there the better. At the start of the season I thought that Toure was going to be a good signing for us, but since his injury he has been very poor, and the mistake today typified that, we were clearly looking for an experienced calm head back there to replace Carragher but for me he doesn't offer that he's a bit of a headless chicken to be honest. The mistake itself while terrible on his part is also IMO partly down to Mignolet, what was he thinking giving him the ball with 2 WBA players closing in on him?

The midfield also needs sorting out again I think it is due to trying to accommodate Sturridge, Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho. We have unbalanced the side, Gerrard is doing better at the role than he was but essentially everyone in there is playing out of position we have gone from a midfield of Henderson, Gerrard and Lucas, with Henderson the furthest forward, Gerrard in the middle and Lucas at the back, now we have a midfield 3 of Coutinho, Henderson and Gerrard, with Coutinho playing the Henderson role, Henderson playing the Gerrard role and Gerrard playing the Lucas role. While this suits Coutinho, for me both Gerrard and Henderson's performance levels have dropped as a result.

While the goals have been masking it I think that the performance levels of Suarez and Sturridge have dropped since the changes in midfield have been made, the midfield aren't creating chances for them, they are feeding off scraps or having to make the chances for themselves. The only one whose performances haven't dropped has been Sterling.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's the typical knee jerk tripe that's been posted on here all season, it was a terrible individual error and cost us two points, we still got a draw though take it and move on.

                meh

I know the squad is thin but the usual suspects on the bench offer the same old ****e when brought on surely ibe etc would be wanting to make an impact and actually try something instead of allen etc coming on and not influencing the game in any way
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

Joe Allen on the bench is like a red card. Rodgers brings him on and we're down to 10 men.

It is not knee jerk at all. Its an atrocious performance and huge opportunity missed. Would love to have your outlook and be positive. But these kind of games really cost us in the end

I guess you just don't find today's game disappointing?
An individual error cost us the game, but that doesn't hide the fact that we were absolutely ****. And it was not for the first time either.
This season we've already had too many of these matches as it is. So do you think we'll still get fourth by repeating them, or we'll just suddenly stop?

We're fighting for 4th this season that's the aim and at moment it's where we sitting.

The attitude of "we should have smashed this lot" is what's part of the problem, this league isn't like this look at the teams around us Spurs dropped points to Hull the Mancs lost to Stoke they should have "smashed them" it's that attitude we need to get past as it's just not that easy.

We obviously haven't played well but it's a terrible individual error that's cost us the 3 points without that we'd have been sitting 4 points ahead of Everton and 5 from Spurs.

If it was atrocious we would have been soundly beaten.

Our best midfield three, this season, has been Lucas, Henderson and Allen. Some people hate Henderson (the usual suspect ) some hate Allen.. and there's probably one or two that still think Lucas is ****. Think we need a whole new midfield
