Listening in the car the commentator said something along the lines of we've conceded the most goals and most goal scoring opportunities through defensive errors in the entire league.

That's a pretty damming stat IMO and goes beyond Toure's particular error today, however bad that was.

Toure seemed like a decent player during the first few games for us, he seems really lacking in confidence now. That cock-up is only going to affect his confidence further. I think we should pick anyone available who can cover that position rather than Toure, he needs to be left out for a while. It's too big a risk to play him, it's too important a position. We desperately need Sakho and Agger fit and ready to play. It's a pity Carragher can't be brought back from retirement. Really disappointed with this result today it was definitely a massive opportunity for us to push up the table.

I had to delete my comments on Kelly in my last post as I didn't want it to seem like an overreaction to a poor performance. But sadly I've accepted a while ago he's completely done. It's sad as he was excellent when he broke through, but if he is gonna try and get his career back on track it should definitely be out on loan for now.

Even when fit though I don't see him as a suitable FB in our system, but he was brought on today to enable us to go 3 at the back and again there his weaknesses were exposed as he got us in trouble at one stage with his **** heading.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think Kelly's done too. Looks ****in terrible, although in his defence he's not had any sort of run since the injuries.

If we have a clearout in the summer Kelly would be one of them for me. Flano looks way ahead and more suited to how we play.

Just quickly scanned the thread and don't think anyone's mentioned it yet - apologies if they have and I missed it - but for those wondering why we went after Salah and Konoplyanka, surely today gave them their answer. Zero game changers on the bench. City or Chelsea in that position with 25 minutes to go bring on Schurrle or Jesus Navas or whatever. We've got Aspas and Moses.

The holes in our first team are well acknowledged but I think many don't realise how big a loss the lack of depth is to us.

Rodgers is doing a decent job considering he hasn't been given money to strengthen the squad. The January transfer window was a joke, we should have brought a couple of quality additions in to improve our chances of sealing a CL spot. It's frustrating, we can see the deficiencies, but the manager can't seem to do anything about it.

We lost out on so many second balls its a joke and Toure & Cissokho were shocking. Luis should've finished them off.

Great support in the away end as usual.
Was the pitch bad? It seems as soon as we are anywhere without An field's carpet - like pitch our passing and control of the ball goes to ****

                      oh you beauty ‏@natefc
LFC have now dropped 12 pts from winning positions this season: Swansea (D), Everton (D), City (L), Chelsea (L), WBA (D). All away matches.
Only West Ham have dropped more than that while winning.

                        Not a pleasant stat

So what is it..tactics? Mentality? To me at least it looks as if we try and take the sting out of the game, which is fine, but we generally seem to lose a bit of fluency because of it and then can't get it back. We start to lose the ball and then drop deep.

Doing that is fine when you're blessed with technical ability throughout the team but sadly we aren't

We're just not good enough away from home are we. Never felt confident this season going away. Absolutely no idea what the problem is apart from the fact we're definitely deeper than we are at Anfield. You'd think most positive, attacking teams drop 5-10 yards compared to how they set up at home.

Teams who win things find ways to pull winners out of the bag in games like that, even after Kolo cocked up there was more than enough time to get a winner but we never looked like getting one.We didn't go up a gear or two and put them under the cosh like United under Fergie or whatever. We aren't there yet but you'd have to hope that will come with time.

But generally if we concede,we drop points unless we are already miles in front.Ideally we need to get a settled and strong back 4 behind that midfield and attack and we will be much better placed to win these games that we currently drop points in.

Eh? The money is clearly there it's just they just won't over spend on players not worth what "they" deem to be acceptable for a certain individual.

Look at some of the players Tottenham bought in the summer and what they thought was good value. I'm glad they over paid royally
