    Head-to-head
Crystal Palace have won the last two meetings with liverpool at selhurst park - they won 1-0 in the premier league in april 2005 and then 2-1 in the third round of the league cup later that year.

Liverpool have won four out of the last five league clashes between these teams.

Tony pulis is unbeaten in premier league home matches against liverpool (w3, d2).

    Crystal Palace
Crystal palace have won five out of their last six league matches.

They have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six games in the league.

The eagles have lost six out of their seven matches with the premier league's top four this season. Their only victory was a 1-0 win over chelsea at selhurst park.

Their total of 15 goals scored at home this season is the lowest in the league.

They have the lowest average ball possession in the league this season (37.9%), and have never once had the overall majority of possession in a league match under pulis.

    Liverpool
Liverpool are aiming to set a new club record of seven top-flight away wins in a row after winning their last six.

Their 2-0 defeat by chelsea last weekend was the first time they have failed to find the net in 26 matches, since their 2-0 defeat at arsenal on 2 november.

They have scored more goals away from home than any other team in the league this season (45) - nine more than second-best manchester city.

Brendan rodgers' side have taken a league-high 34 points from their 18 away matches this season (w10, d4, l4).

Liverpool need four more league goals to break the 100-goal barrier this season. Chelsea hold the premier league record, scoring 103 in 2010.

**** it. I know I've tried to play the goal difference stuff down - because, let's face it, it's ridiculous - but this is a fun read. COME ON!!!!!!!!

            By Martin Fitzgerald

I’M SO BORED OF OTHER FOOTBALL TEAMS.

You wouldn’t believe how bored I am, watching them, trying to work out what they’re up to. What their game is. How what they will do will impact on us.

I’m so bored of other managers. I’m fed up trying to work out their motivations, what they’re up to, how what goes on in their head affects us.

The season is over next week. I’m not spending any more time on them, they can do what they want. All my efforts now go into Liverpool. I’m not bored of Liverpool. How could you be bored of Liverpool?

This is in our hands, we need to take control of the situation. That’s what we’ve been doing all season. We need to do the other thing we have been doing all season. Score. Score. Score. Score. There are 180 minutes left. We can score. We can always score.

The time for football as it usually is has gone, football was what we did when we needed to win games.

We don’t have time for football now. We only have time for goals. For all the goals.

Get the players together, sell them an idea. Show them they’ve scored 96 goals in the league already. Print out the table and f***ing show it to them. Sit them down, make them watch every goal.

They love goals. Make them love goals more. Drill goals into them. Sell them an idea.

And then don’t let them score in training. Take the goals away, starve them.

Send them out in that tunnel in South East London absolutely starving for their goals.

            And then unleash them.

The first 10 minutes of that game needs to be the last 10 minutes of the most important game of their lives. That’s the idea.

Get an early goal. We’ve got loads of early goals all year. Brendan, show them the early goals.

And when you get that early goal you do this:

            No one celebrates.

The team, the whole team runs into the back of their net and picks up the ball. They’re starving, they need more. They take the ball back to the centre circle and place it on the spot.

No one in the team takes up their positions. The whole team stands on the halfway line waiting for their kick off.

The halfway line is the deepest we get. Then go again. Score again. Do it all again. Stare them down again. Take them into places football never has to go.

And this is what we do for 180 minutes. Take them into places football never has to go.

No one’s ever done this. No one’s ever needed to. No one’s ever had to relentlessly score goals for three hours.

Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling, Gerrard, Coutinho, Allen, Johnson, Sakho, Skrtel and Flanagan.

Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals, Goals.

No one’s ever done this. No one’s ever needed to. No one’s ever been able to.

            We are.

            Fantasy? Deluded?

It’s just a matter of how I choose to spend my time.

If you want to spend yours wondering what Fabian Delph or Stewart Downing are capable of then I guarantee you’re in a worse place than me.

            Sell them an idea.

Ah **** it - it's pure fantasy but what is the point of being football supporter without hope? It's the day of the game, ****ed if I'm just gonna mope about all day.

Have to admit I thought to myself. "****ing come on" when I saw the quotes last night

You have to admire him. He thinks and talks like a fan. Glad he isnt a defeatist like me

The guy is going to be a legend for us

Yep he is brilliant. I'd been on Twitter for two minutes this morning when I saw stacks of City and United fans absolutely mocking the living **** out of Brendan for his quotes. Just **** off. I'm sick of all this sneering from joyless cunts who think we shouldn't show any emotion or have any hope. United fans on FB this weekend belittling us for "celebrating the title win for 6 weeks" - **** off you clowns, it's called support, it's called having hope. We've celebrated nothing and all Brendan is doing is trying to instill some belief.

The Mancs biggest achievement this season is binning the chosen one, how they can find any joy even at the expense of other teams is laughable.

Oh we'll 'suppose they've got the class of '92 to return them to the top!!

For me tonight is all about the 3 points, score loads brilliant, win by a spawny off the arse of the defender OG all good. We need those 3 points and make City earn the title.

                      Comment

I agree Casemore. We need a win more than anything else. Make it go to the last game of the season

Utd fans are shameless really. Done **** all of note this season besides constantly be embarassed at home. Same as Everton fans. Totally ****ing bottled it when got into 4th place yet all they want to do is mock us. In a weird way, their stupidness is quite funny. **** them.

Whilst we are watching CL football they will be sitting at home doing **** all hoping we lose.

If I was a Manc I'd be more concerned about the direction my own club was heading. They would love to be in our position at this stage of the season. **** em.

Had my two Everton mates sending me abuse yesterday first thing in the morning. Ah we hate Liverpool fans, we'd have to put up with a parade, taking the piss out of Gerrard

Finally snapped and slated them over their failure to beat our 3rd choice keeper in a semi, their total ****ing bottlejob in race for 4th, Alcaraz's hilarious own goal last week and the fact they have probably never even been to Goodison

Final line was dont be so bitter for choosing the wrong club in Merseyside to support

Haha Shaggy, that's the idea man.

Let's enjoy it rather than stressing out. We've got it on our hands if we reverse that goal difference. At least, we can put even more pressure on City and I tell you, they don't really deal well with it.
                                Are we winning?
