Centre backs are built on partnerships and for the most part with VVD Lovren has been good but as highlighted by Klopp his concentration is his biggest weakness and I’m not sure that’s something you can suddenly change around.

Do you have it mentally yourself?Originally posted by danperkins View PostKlopp forgot to mention that he is a maniac, anyways Klopp was constantly praising Moreno before Robbo took his chance and never looked back. I do wonder if Moreno had not of got injured would Robbo still be warming the bench & Moreno still costing us goals. I'll be shocked if we aren't in the market for a CB in the summer.
As regards Lovren, alot of footballers are physically strong/athletic but mentally they just don't have it.... that is Lovren in a nutshell he is brainless. To be fair to Lovren has had a few decent games since VVD came in beside him, he needs someone beside him to guide and direct him(which is ridiculous when you think about it). Mig, Moreno & Lovren have cost us so many goals over the last few seasons it's bordering on farcical. We have phased Mig and Moreno out and look at the improvement... Lovren hopefully is next.
Lovren can be excellent and consistently good. Like all defenders, he will make mistakes and some of them will cost us games. Van Dijk made a couple of costly mistakes over the last few games but they were never highlighted and no one ever said he was a catastrophe waiting to happen.
Centre halves will always suffer from lapses of concentration. You can probably count on one hand the number of costly mistakes he's made this season which is not the disaster he's being made out to be.
I remember you lauding the merits of Laporte earlier this season, but he didn't cover himself in glory when we played them so, it's not easy to find players who can delivery high quality on a very consistent basis and the ones we find, tend to cost us around £75m pounds. Are we winning?

Honesly Nigel I could say the very same thing about you. Oh and have you not been watching Lovren throughout his time here? Seriously!?Originally posted by Fredo View PostDo you have it mentally yourself?

Because if you had you would have come to the conclusion that it seems 99.9% of Liverpool fans have come to and that is... the only thing consistent about him is that he makes mistakes time and time and time again which cost us points. From the moment he arrived here.. up until this point does this fact have to be proven over and over to our detriment. He is not good enough and never will be. But as usual I feel you're on a wind up, purposely going against the grain. Only reason I can fathom when you say things like you can count his mistakes on one hand. Sure he made about 5 mistakes in Spurs game alone.
Laporte has been in the prem a wet day, Lovren for years.Last edited by danperkins; 23-04-18, 11:03 PM.

klopp talking about lovren is only slightly less bad than lovren talking about lovren.Originally posted by BigChief View PostThat is just what we wanted to hear before a CL semi final first leg.

There's still time.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

What you hardly think he's going to come out and say "Lovren is ****, he's a ****ing maniac & he has cost us loads of points"? It's a message to the player for confidence before a big game, nothing more. Same as he did with Moreno.Originally posted by Fredo View PostKlopp must also be on a wind up.Last edited by danperkins; 24-04-18, 12:49 PM.

Mistakes are part of the game and fortunately, Klopp is not knee jerk like a lot of you.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWhat you hardly think he's going to come out and say "Lovren is ****, he's a ****ing maniac & he has cost us loads of points"?
