We need a better CB, Lovren is great for the bench, but he will pull a Karius in the next final and we will all be screaming, **** it we should have got shot of this guy years ago. He still has. I'd be happy to keep him at the club but he needs serious competition for his spot at the very least. We need a few more Andy Robinson type players floating around the squad putting players on notice.
He seems a lot of show and not much go. He talks a good game meanwhile Big Virg just gets on with it.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Lovren is a good defender when having a strong partner like now. He's good in almost every aspect of the game, but he makes mistakes as everyone else. Had a very solid game in the final, and honestly VVD made more mistakes, looked more nervous than him during the game.
Not saying Lovren can't be improved upon, but I'm at the point where I wouldn't be enterily unhappy with him and VVD making our CD next season.

You've got to give credit where it's due though surely. Arsed about getting egg on my face or whatever. He's been brilliant lately, was brilliant in Kiev, and that's that.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI still think you guys that now think lovren is a reformed character will end up with egg on your face. He can't help himself. But until that point I'll just step back and observe. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yes, fair. He's been very good of late and deserves the praise he's had for his performances. All considered we still ideally need a much more resilient and accomplished partner for VVD. That may or may not come this summer though as I'd place it behind a new keeper, creative midfielder and quality forward cover in terms of priorities.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYou've got to give credit where it's due though surely. I've not been a fan of his at all, and fully understand the doubts. But he's better with VVD, a lot better, and if you listen to Klopp talk about him he absolutely loves him. I think we'll get a young defender with lots of room for improvement - Lascelles or a similar mould - and stick with Lovren, Voovde and Matip...probably phasing Raggy out.
There's also Gomez as a CB option. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I'd be quite happy with that tbh.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI've not been a fan of his at all, and fully understand the doubts. Keep Lovren as a squad player and sign another quality CB. He has improved and deserves credit for that but he is who he is and makes it hard to trust him fully... I don't think that will change either. Sell Klavan or Matip.. don't really care who and buy a quality CB, Lovren can battle it out with him to be a starter.
We have to improve the starting 11 and the squad. Injury ridden players IMO should be given the boot first, we have been plagued with perma crocks for years... anyone who suffers with injuries on the reg is not going to cut it from what Klopp demands physically on the pitch. Next year could be huge for us with a few more quality players in the areas that need to be addressed.
I would hate to be saying yet again next year "We should have signed another CB" or "We should have signed a GK".
