Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

If he's happy to stay I have no idea why we'd countenance letting him leave. You're not going to get a better 4th choice who's happy to not rock the boat.

Seems a reasonable fee. He'll be 30 in July, and possibly the only way we'd even consider a move for De Ligt.

I don't think he'll go though. Seems to love it here, and is popular within the ranks by the looks of things.

Still a liability though. 29 probably the last chance to cash in. If we could bring another young talent in to learn under Virg it's worth doing imo.

Mo will be pissed if he leaves....

It's weird but I don't really want him to go I've grown fond of him

A discussion broke out about him on the Man U thread. I was as sick of him as everyone else back in the Brendan era when he was massively error prone. Klopp has made him much better and it is not far off 2 years since he had a bad game.

He gets grief because people recall how bad he was.

I think he is an invaluable member of the squad and if we get defensive injuries it seems unlikely we will be able to bring in a better defender that knows our systems and has performed to such a high level.

I reckon the De Ligt boat sailed as soon as they started talking about the wages hes expects

If Lovren goes I expect us to go for another prospect or low key signing

If we were to get £25m that'd be essentially £35m if we didn't have to pay his wages. That'd only work if we promote a player from the academy.

Anyway, i don't think anyone is offering £25m but i can see how that'd be tempting.

Regardless we aren't signing de Ligt for a position that isn't a problem for us.

I can't believe he's 19 and asking for more than £200k, he can **** right off.

For me he still makes mistakes, the problem in the past was that he was also playing alongside Moreno and Mignolet who also made frequent mistakes

His big problem now is he will be playing alongside Van Dijk who doesnt seem to make many mistakes at all so when a partner of his does make errors they immediately come under the spotlight

The lads a huge prospect but his agent has got his head up his arse

He will look great in the French league but lets face it he wont be tested week in week out. His only real tests will come in the Champions League

Personally I think its a huge mistake on his behalf not coming to the Premier League as I feel that move would have pushed him on much more

He could also go the John Stones route, error prone and increasingly marginalised.

I think the absolute smartest move for him would be another season or 2 at Ajax.

He looks uncomfortable against big CF's so it may be that the move to the PL is to soon for him (he is only 19, incredibly young, loads of time to improve).

I think he should wait. Though the figures being mentioned for him are bonkers. Also the expectation on every big fee defender being the next VVD are going to be huge.

Never mind de ligt, this is the lovren thread lads

Anyway, most lads look decent alongside vvd, trouble is without him we could just go to ****, we've all seen what lovren is capable of, both good and bad.
He is never going to be trustworthy unless he has big virge to change his nappies for him.

I think if we get 25m for Lovren, then Klopp would sit him down and basically say "look Dejan it is up to you. You can be 4th choice and practically never play or have a good career in Milan"

If it is spelt out in no uncertain terms that he is #4 at LFC, then a fella who thinks he is in the top 5 in the world in his position will head on. He knows that if he doesn't go now, then it would be the likes of Palace or Bournemouth in 12 months time. I think £25m is a fair price all round to be honest - and if I was manager of a mid-table PL side, then i'd look to go for Lovren.

I do think that we should sell for that cash though. I actually think that Dejan would be a terrible 4th choice defender. He seems to play himself into form and if he is called upon after not playing for a number of weeks, then i think he is likely to cock things up.

Lovren will get games even as fourth choice though, Gomez will play games at right back and Matip will miss some games, probably VVD too. I think Matip even started the season fourth choice so he could surprise a few just like Matip.

Not fussed really what happens, he can stay or go, we'll be fine either way.
