If he'd have started the season like this there'd be more optimism around him, but he's still been up and down. He came in to be a leader and the way his loss of confidence affected him showed he's a million miles from being leadership material.

Leaders don't let the criticism effect them in a negative fashion, they use it as motivation - like Carragher did. Every season managers tried to replace him, every season he stepped it up.

Make no mistake, assuming Brendan is still in charge, he'll be here next season.
Earlier this season he couldn't even cope in those circumstances so it's a step in the right direction. In fairness we had two full backs brand new to the league and we couldn't score any goals. It wasn't easy but he needed to step up and be a leader, and instead he shrank and became part of the problem instead of being one who would help find a solution.

Agreed....and now that Henderson has been signed up, Brendan can complete the plan and install Dejan as captain for next season.

Lovren has only played 5 full games in 2015 so not sure how it can be said he's had a decent 2015. Got some clean sheets but lucky we don't just rely on stats as he was still a liability in most of those clean sheets. Thought he was decent yesterday, albeit against a team with absolutely no interest in attacking.

Been a disaster buy and have no doubts he ll be here next season as we would take a huge hit on him financially if he was to go.

I think we have a squad of players who are hit & miss on the big occasion. And we lack that real world class individual who in a drab game will pull something from nothing on a regular basis.
I agree. We don't have any top defenders, all our defenders a phased by something to some extent, so for me they mostly fall into the average or good catagory mostly because they still fairly frequently make mistakes which are somewhat avoidable. We can afford to have defenders who make the occasional mistake, these things happen, the problem is that our defenders tend to make a couple of mistakes per game, which really is too many. The thing is I don't think any of them are bad players they have shown ability wise that they are capable, the think that takes them to the next level IMO isn't any lacking technical ability it is the mental side of the game, which I would hope we should be able to coach into them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Do love it when someone tries to use stats to dismiss an opinion and gets them wrong.

Oh yeah. If I was looking for top class players, I wouldn't sign any LFC player. Of course you can have players of varying levels of ability in a title winning squad, but none of ours are rock solid players you can rely on in a game of real importance. The four teams above us have an abundance of top level players who have proven experience and can step up.

Lovren had a good game yesterday, I was impressed with him. That would have been a defeat without him being in the right place at the right time. See, I can praise players I have absolutely no time for!

What in the sweet name of **** was that yesterday ?

I actually think that was his worst display for us in many ways. Granted it wasn't a good defensive/midfield display all round, but he was hugely irresponsible back there for a large part of the game. Frequently running out from the line and not winning the ball is next to impossible to defend 100% of the time......especially with the pace and counter that Palace used against us so effectively.

Best moment - the dithering back and forth at one point in the 2nd half, when the ball was between himself, Sterling and Puncheon (I think).
                              Dominantly commanding.

I thought he was muck when we signed him but he's even worse than I thought.

It's not nerves is it - he's just ****. Brain dead, no awareness, totally all over the place.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
