I fail to see how it's possible to be "mugged off" for having a widely held opinion based on the facts of the situation up til now. If he ups his game I won't have been proved wrong about him being ****e up to now, he'd have been ****e when I said he was ****e and then he would have improved and I'll be acknowledging that if it occurs. Frankly if you derive happiness from points scoring at fellow fans when a player ups his game its pretty sad. I like Nigey though and respect his opinion and wholeheartedly hope he has reason to cheer where Lovren is concerned.

As long as the reds win I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of my opinion.

There was never any intent to mug you off or to prove a point.

Just saying that one bad season doesn't make a player bad. He needs to be in a settled defence, with less chopping and changing. He's still very young for a defender, at 25.
      Are we winning?

Leaving aside the muggin off part which I don't even know what it means I'll say this.

Rather than "one bad season" in two years I'd be more inclined to say "one good half a season" in two years and he was none too spectacular in the plodding french league either by all accounts. At the end of the day we need players to play well in our team and if he's one going forward I'm all for it.

I thought he'd be our new Carragher, he's clearly not. We paid too much for him, but if he becomes dependable and has a decent season then that's all we can expect. The price wasn't his fault, we wouldn't be so critical of him if he'd cost £10m? We need to view him as any another player and forget the over-the-top amount of money we spent on him.

I'm not 100% sure its the money that's the issue.....more that he's clearly the manager's first choice of purchase for the role.
The amount probably comes secondary to the criticism levelled at his first season.

Done well today, and will continue for the next game in truth.

Doubt we'll see any changes at back until the Europa and the league cup start. Nor should we really. He's picked the first choice back 5, stick with them and let them get on with it. Barring injury/suspension of course.

You've wrote him off, if he turns it around and people point out you were wrong to do so is the point I'm making. In fairness, you are in the majority so it's not like you can be isolated. As you say, wildly held. And I was t saying I'd be critical, Football is about opinions.

We are all wrong at some point and the only tedious people on social media are those who try to argue different points and facts about completely different topics to cover their mistakes

So'ton paid a high fee for him from Lyon, don't listen to the idiots who say he was ****e over there, he wasn't. He was tipped as one for the top from a young age and was progressing in France, So'ton just got in there before he was proven as a solid and dependable player ready for a top side.

By all accounts there were a lot of top clubs who were keeping tabs on him.

£6.8m, yeah that's a real high fee. Be arsed with all this ****e again cos it's irrelevant but the fans of the club he left apparently hated him.

All that matters is what he does here and he has a long way to go yet.

He was better than Skrtel (which granted is hardly a ringing endorsement). Not being utterly catastrophic every time he's within 20 feet of the ball is definitely process though. Long may it continue. You'll forgive me if I don't get too optimistic just yet though.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Its an utter disgrace the abuse dished out to Lovren on this forum.

I dont claim to be any smarter or in any way better then the next fan but the need to find scapegoats at Lfc is worrying.

We where once known as 'the best fans in the world' but some of the bull#$@# on here condemns us to a lower level and rightly so.

Get behind the players and the team and we will get better results.

When in relation to his outings last season I don't think it is. That was possibly the single poorest season I've seen a centreback have at the club in the time I've followed us. He was ****ing dreadful... And we paid £20 million for said dreadfulness

Get over it, last season was a train wreck. We may as well have been playing with 10 men every game

No forward to relieve the pressure and a lite hungry b#@$×rd with a couldnt gove a fx#@ attitude.

Seriously, players need our support, the constant badgering of Lovern is becoming embarrassing.

Players get loads of stick at Anfield which is where players should be vocally supported. Here is unlikely to be much different given he gets stick at the actual games. Par for the course when you've a tendency to be **** at your job. I wouldn't worry about it though, he's not reading it.

Behave yourself mate. He's been decent for one game which doesn't remove the 30 odd he was wank for. And he was crap in the pre-season bits I saw him in. Get off your self gratifying, moralising high horse. When he's strung more than one decent game together I'm sure the scepticism about his propensity to **** **** up will abate but until then in my eyes he's still the 20 million quid clanger (albeit with one decent game under his belt).
