He wasn't the only one. Van Dijk a couple of times made mistakes which caused panic. It's systemic we have phases when we allow the opposition an opportunity.

We need to do better for 100% of games, not just Lovren. Until we do that, we will rely on moments of genius from our front players.

VVD is not perfect but Lovren has form and years of examples to fall back on - i’d much prefer another CB to play with VVD than Dejan

Lovren making a gaff just isn’t surprising anymore. It’s more a relief when we get through a game and he doesn’t make a mistake. He could be such a great CB if he managed to get these mad moments out of his system. That said I would start him next week lol

As dissapointing as his mistakes are he has played in some big games and shown that he is capable. Id be happy if he was 3rd or 4th choice. We need another VVD type to settle the defence.
