I cant imagine any situation where id want fabinho to relinquish his DM (number 6) crown for any reason. We play much better with him in there, and then henderson and Wijnaldum free to run forward rather than passing sideways

It would be a worry only having matip and gomez as serious first team partners to the imperious VVD with the new lad (van deer berg) as a potenial benchwarmer or cup player, and hoever as back up full back and maybe 5th choice full back.
Could we still sign an out of contract guy to help give us some additional cover?

Totally agree with that. He’s the best DM we have plus he can thread a pass through their defence. I love the guy & wouldn’t want him shuffled around.

So we need 4 centre backs but were happy to sell one but not loan him. Makes nonsense at all

November to the 1st of January is going to be a gruelling schedule. Once CL, league cup, World thing thing are added to the mix.

Unpopular opinion but other than the really big games. Id be happy to see Vvd/Lovren and Matip/Gomez as pairings to keep everyone fresh. One of them will be injured by then making this all redundant.
