I genuinely don't get it if we end up stuck with him at left back.

He's a disaster waiting to happen every game.

His diving tackles are a common feature of his game and he does it in the penalty area a lot.

The worst thing about the one Sunday was taht it wasn't an incredibly dangerous position that Arsenal had. He just had a brainfart again.

Well, he has barely any experience for a start.

Yeah, he was well on his way shielding Walcott out of the area, bit weird.
        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

How many games he has played.
How much we were willing to pay for him.

I'm not sure if we were after him as I'm not privy to that information and he hasn't played many games but a number of journos close to the club said we bid for him which would suggest we wanted to sign a LB?

The £10m (or so) valuation for an unproven kid is madness and I'm glad we didn't pay it regardless of how good he might turn out but my point was that the club surely wanted a LB given we had bid for Chilwell.

Would be great if Milner came in for him on Saturday.

And none of that supports him being bought as a starter rather than a player for the future.

Saw Tomkins tweet that 5 of Arsenals 6 chances came from Clynes wing. So maybe they didn't target him as much as first thought.

I wasn't sure about that stat but think it might be right. The one where mad Albie headed it straight to Ramsey in the box before two footing him was defo a cross from the right. Not sure about the penalty.

I don't blame him for the first goal to be honest. I think Gary Neville slated him on TV for being out of position, but in reality if Lallana didn't lose the ball so easily in the middle of the park, then Moreno would have been a great outlet bombing down the left. So while he may have been guilty of ball watching with some of the diagonal balls played in, I don't doubt that Morenos remit is to get forward at every opportunity. (same as Clyne) Otherwise, Klopp would have hooked him for ignoring his instructions.

But for the penalty that he gave away - jesus what was he thinking??? He just dived in - if he waited another 2 or 3 seconds then Walcott would have been outside the box already.

I actually think that with our squad, then a 3 man defense might not be a bad idea in certain games. With Moreno and Clyne as wing backs. And if Matip was in the back 3, then we mightnt actually need a defensive midfielder. He could be the guy that pushes up as well as brings the ball out of defense.

I think we are at crossed wires here Matt, my point is I believe that club wants to sign a LB and the reason I believe so is because we chased Chilwell (as was well documented). Whether he was a starter or one for the future is irrelevant.
